Well, I suppose by definition that term isn't "negative" per say, but its used by lot of guys in the "Boo hoo, the girl isn't screwing me despite the fact I'm nice to her!" way, so for some people they associate term with that.

Anyway, yeaaaah, I don't know any girl who would kiss someone on lips constantly without being interested in them, that'd be just weird, but I suppose in some cultures kisses on cheek can be seen as friendly. But on your other comment... Well, dunno what to say.

I can't really comment on "I can see this person only as friend" thing since thats alien concept to me personally ^_^; I don't see any reason why being friends would prevent romantic interest. And I can't understand referring someone you meet as "being like a brother/sister to me" since to me, siblings whether blood or not have to grow up together. So someone you have known for a year can't be like that to you, not really.

As far as I know, people in the friend-zone don't even get a kiss.

Did you kiss your brother on the lips then?

hmm I guess I thought...if you liked someone you would be a little more shy with physical contact (kissing them)....XD at least when your a teen.

I mean if April liked liked Casey I can't imagine her just constantly kissing him a lot....it would seem like one of those build up moments.

This is why I felt this recent ep would've been more appropriate for Casey, not Donnie. Donnie let's April call the shots for the most part.

Even with that chart he made, it would still be all on April and it was a way to get to know her and hang. This is why I didn't find his chart creepy because of how innocent it was.

Casey has been in April's personal space quite a few times, even hugging her. I remember in that one ep from season 1 where Donnie was expecting April to hug him. When he saw he wasn't getting one, he stopped. He lets April call the shots. And with the hugs, seems April was usually the one to initiate them.

Casey's the one going around acting like she's his girlfriend. Donnie doesn't, and still hasn't. It's like "Davis" from Digimon Adventure 02. He would go around and declare that "Kari is my girlfriend" or something annoying like that. Of course, this is another reason why I loathe and hate the dub of this show as Daisuke was never like that and his crush on Hikari was quite innocent and normal.

Every time (well, most times) Casey gets alone time with April, seems he's always expecting to get someplace, like in the first ep this season (even though I did laugh). The part when Leo told him and April to go off, he had that, "Oh yeah...I'm gonna get me some O'Neal action. Giggity!" I actually did laugh when he put his mask down. lol

So yeah, he does seem to be leading himself on.

Depends on what type of kiss it is. All of April's kisses towards Donnie have been very innocent, 'cept this most recent one.

The other times, she was thanking him for trying his best to protect her from Karai. The other two times, she was overwhelmed by emotion for creating the retromutagen and then out of gratitude for it returning her father back to normal.

Some friends do kiss or do innocent kisses and hugs. Some don't. Not sure if this is true as my experience is very limited, but seems like New Yorkers are like this, but I can only go by my father's side of the family who are all from New York (I was born there, but grew up in Virginia, as that's where my mother's from). I see them kissing friends and family all the time. I've never come across someone doing that down in Virginia where I grew up.

Now if it happened here in Japan, then it would mean something. Cheek or no cheek. A kiss in general would mean something totally different and kisses are generally only done in a romantic set up.

Yeah, that kiss this time was very...non-friendshippy. THe other times, very friendshippy and innocent.

Also, you can be friends with someone and see that person as sibling like. One story that comes to mind is Fruits Basket. The main character Yuki thought he had romantic feelings towards the main female character, Tohru, but he finally figures out that it wasn't romantic, but she filled a void in his life that was missing. She's very kind and caring towards him, something he never received from his own mother. So it turns out that he found a mother/sister figure in Tohru.

I have some male friends that I call "brothers from other mothers". It's like time I met them, I was like, "Man, you remind me of a younger cousin." so I view them as such. lol I don't have any siblings, only cousins.

It depends on the person. Some people may be bold enough to find excuses to share physical affection, like a hug. Not everyone is shy in this sense. I've had "hugs" with potential love interests...even those I knew I would never get with due to its being one-sided and I knew it. But, I like having new friends too.

Easiest way to tell someone's argument about this ship is invalid:

Use of the term friendzone.

Anyway I saw some of the third episode on youtube from the panel....at least the first part....
and regarding some of the ships/apriltello/capril in the 3rd episode....

Spoiler:
Donnie is still trying to be "cool" and hit on April....April is just ignoring him like she usually does and Casey....Casey is acting like Casey around her....both guys are still fighting each other in front of April. 2nd episode pretty much solved nothing (at least from the first part of the episode)

Eh, that sounds like good friends to me. To me, sibling relationships are mostly arguing a lot about small things, but since they are your siblings you are able to respect them despite taking/giving lot of crap from/to them and vice versa.

I mean, I guess I can understand the "feeling", but to me the "She/he is like sibling to me" sounds like person has really rosey picture of what sibling-hood ls like. All close relative relationships are mostly about arguments/sibling rivalry and once in blue moon agreeing with each other and realizing that wow, there are things in this family which are common to everyone

Now, the father/mother thing I can understand since some people don't have good homelife so meeting person who acts more motherly/fatherly than their own parents is understandable. But siblings? Well, yeah, I have hard time seeing that, I mean sure people can take lot of crap from their friends too, but with siblings people are able to take so much crap they wouldn't bother with anyone else

Not all siblings fight. Three of my cousins are all siblings and they got along very well, 'cept for when very young, but only because the oldest of the three had to listen to the crying of the younger two. Two brothers and a sister.

The oldest is five years younger than I am. When he was a kid, he always hung over at our house. Reason? "My brother cries too much." He's three years under him. When a little older and out of his crying stage, they got along very well, but then they had their younger sister (two years younger than the middle one). She got on their nerves because of how the parents treated her as she was the only girl and could get away with stuff, but they still generally got along and even as adults now (28, 25, 23) they still get along.

As for Yuki and Tohru, he did feel that the love he had for Tohru was romantic, until he figured it out for himself that it wasn't. That her friendship with him was purely platonic and a bit familial because he didn't grow up with that kind of caring. Yuki was very closed up, despite his popularity, but Tohru's friendship helped him to open up more. For the most part, he was confused over these feelings until he worked them out.

Not for everyone. Usually when older, they mature. Some people have (or had) very good sibling relationships with very little arguing or disagreement. Not everyone act as rivals for their parents' attention. We can't paint all people with siblings in the same stroke. Not saying it's perfect, but neither are friendships.

Maybe, but as I pointed out, not everyone have issues with their siblings and are close.

I hope that's a mistake. Even for this previous episode, the lesson learned seems like it would've benefited Casey, not Donnie.

It doesn't really matter who gets the lesson.
If it doesn't get learned what's the point?

My problem with this is the fact that Donnie already knows this stuff. He doesn't hover over April, he doesn't force hugs and stuff on her, etc. Casey does. That's why I felt it was strange. Seems this whole ep should've been done back in season 1 where he was going out of his way to try and impress April. By season 2, it calmed down tremendously, so it feels off to me. I'm just calling it how I see it.

I know that we can be confusing as teenagers, but this one is very baffling.

Still, to me, she is coming across as liking him.
I took it as, she's finally stepping onto the docks with Donnie, but she has a long way to feel comfortable enough to step on the ship, and even a longer wait until she is finally comfortable enough to just let it sail. And what with Donnie being so naive to all of this, I can't blame either one from just rushing into things, unlike what Casey has been trying to do. I am definitely for Don/April in this version. I just feel like Casey sees her as nothing more than a piece of meat.

As for leading him on... I suppose I'll leave that up to the next telling moment. Whether there is something between them or if she turns around and pulls another "this is really awkward I have to LEAVE THE ROOM RIGHT NOW" maneuver.

Encourage him to keep trying to get her attention, whether intentional or not, and then pull that once more, then yeah... girl you leading him on and need to be hit.
This is the thing though. If she really is into Donnie, then she needs to pull Casey aside and tell him she has made her choice, and it's not him. Either that, or Raphael is going to have to be the mature one in all of this, and have a talk with April to get her sh!t in gear, since it's affecting his brother and his best friend. And Raph's the best one for this, because he won't sugar coat it like Leo or Mikey would.

Apritello has no meaning. Never has. Never will. It will always be a shiny dangling keys to attract viewership until the children ,who eats laps this up apparently, said otherwise.

I hate being right.

I find this episode totally in line with Mae Whitman's opinion in her interview about the love triangle. She felt April loved Donnie but wasn't focused on boys and relationships.

The crux of the episode is that Donnie felt he may of been the bigfoot himself, and april let him know that she didn't in a display of affection.

Remember there both teenagers, and teenagers are terrible about how to handle relationships.

It's not that the lesson needed to be learned, its that Donnie got hit in the face with it and while looking back started to be very self-conscious about his past actions even as you mentioned, has become better about it over time.

IMO, the lesson was that there was no lesson here for Donnie. He felt bad because to him he identified his past actions with bigfoot he felt he was being taught about his past actions. But relationships are not cut and dry like that. One situation is not always going to happen the same way. And I feel April's actions were in a small way trying to tell him its not the same thing. That there is some genuine affection in there relationship. As opposed to just the Bigfoot deciding to go after Donnie.
