I think my favourite thing has become playing Dr. Mario and Dark Pit in matches with my friends. My custom builds are both defenders and it makes them hilariously annoying to kill.

In other news, I've got a new main.

The lack of custom characters or Mii's online outside of friends codes is a real killer of enthusiasm for using them. I understand not wanting them mixed in with the normal online battles, so they should make a seperate online mode for Custom characters and Mii's just like "For Fun" and "For Glory."

Its honestly baffling they put all this work into custom moves and custom Mii's and we can't even use them online against anyone.

I don't usually have this problem. I play with a large group of people and we all have each others' FCs added. Every day I've had several 3 or 4 player matches.

I think I'm finally ready to air my grievances with Smash now. Love it for the most part, but some stuff really sticks out.

First, I think it's way too difficult to get a worthwhile amount of coins outside of Classic. Specifically, I think every other mode is far too cheap with coins and unlocks. All-Star in particular feels like it's never rewarding because of this. Speaking of unlocks, I think it's pretty ridiculous to have 0's on the classic roulette, especially at 7.0 and above. The amount of trash you get from those unlocks is also completely unreasonable. It's maddening to do an 8.0 run of classic and get nothing but sh*t equipment.

Which brings me to my next point - everything to do with customization feels like a wasted opportunity. Equipment is worthless, custom specials are neat but serve no purpose, and there was FAR too much time spent on multiple special move sets for the Mii Fighters and Palutena in particular. It's pretty insane that that much work went into stuff that most people will probably never see or use, especially in the case of Palutena who has an awful default special set.

And speaking of wasted time, Smash Run is the worst offender. It's not fun, it's a confusing mess, it serves no purpose and the single decent use it may have had, online, isn't an option. I'd really like to know how that bullsh*t was decided on, because it's somehow worse than Brawl's SSE, although at least you only suffer for a few minutes instead of hours. Also, why are those disgusting monstrosities from SSE still present in the game? They were better off buried and forgotten about.

Anyways, other than that I think the game is ballin', but it has some stuff that's really eyebrow raising. I don't want to say it feels rushed, because there was clearly a lot of care and attention put into (nearly) every facet of the game, but after extended time with it it does seem like something is missing. At the very least, this doesn't feel like the main event, but that might be by design.

They should have given some of Palutena's specials to Ganondorf (with some animation changes to make it fit the Zelda universe), or even Dark Pit to make him somewhat unique. Its baffling that Palutena has 12 specials instead of spreading it to other characters who could have used it. I don't think Dark Pit would have been as hated if he had some unique specials.

The lack of Donkey Kong content is absurd, especially with the huge revival of the franchise in 2010. No new DK level in the 3DS version at all, and no new character. You would think with Donkey Kong getting two new games (technically 3 if you count the 3DS port of Returns), and Sakurai completely snubbing the franchise. Dixie is one of the last Nintendo stars from the 90's completely MIA.

Also anyone else think Rambi would have made a good item? Imagine jumping on top of it and riding it around like Wario's bike.

UGH. I HATE THIS TOO. Would have made sense on the easier difficulties but why would the roulette put me at NOTHING for beating the ****ing master core

Yeah, it lacks polish. I assume this is because it's probably supposed to be the appetizer while the Wii U version is the main course.

Ack, sorry about that last Final Destination match with my other friends, Chris. I didn't know Jeff was going to be doing that, though I probably wasn't making things better by playing monkey in the middle there for a bit...

I've been reading online that Japanese players absolutely hate Little Mac and feel he didn't deserve to be in the game. I know Punchout was never popular in Japan, but I bet they're targeting him particularly because he's the most American character in the game.

Japanese Smash fans think the roster should only cater to them. We had to deal with Fire Emblem characters in Melee before the first Fire Emblem was even localized in America! Not to mention both Roy and Lucas were Japanese only characters.

I wish Sakurai would cater to Americans more and give us Ridley as well.
