She isn't playing the victim this time. She's right, they shouldn't have cut that out to appeal to the Harley fan girls and casuals.

Yeah, she's pretty much her own thing now even if the book sucks. Worst rebirth by far.

I'm aware Cubed hasn't seen the movie and being a pain, that I can't change nor the joking attitude of others. For God's sakes, put them on ignore, stop feeling obligated to respond if the views won't change because, let's face it, we aren't changing () and quit the malarkey.

We get it, you like the movie. However, if you think it's cruel for critics to unfairly bash, then show us links to the stuff. Need I bring up the fact from a while ago, right before opening day mind you, that the immaturity lengths the DC fans took? I refuse to group you in that, but it's this attitude that makes me wish we had nice things for DC films in recent times, sans the Dark Knight Trilogy as it's still a bit recent. Hopefully, this thread gets cleaned or something, this nonsense is pitiful; I'm neutral until I see this film.

Gold, I appreciate you. But hell no.

I refuse to let jerks on this forum sit there and bash it and critique this movie repeatedly like cubed, who has been a troll here for too long. Commenter is just baiting for arguments by mocking, and I've been reasonable with Zarius until my last post on the last page, which is all good because he returned the favor.

I'm not shutting up, and it's wonderful that you're neutral, but I have no problem arguing with you too

Edit: just read page 39, and if me critiquing a critic video like that is something you considering instigating, we have a problem

He proved to be the immature instigator at the end of it all and I think that's rather telling. Didn't he say the thing he liked about me was I did'nt mock anyone? And then HE mocks me?

But still, I take back what I said. Wasn't called for, but he knew exactly what he was doing when he used that to get at me.

I'm trying to avoid the fight. This thread will burn down without me. I liked the movie, nobody else did, go for it. Burn it down, hate hate hate, that's what the internet is for.

I just wanted to point out, saying "c*nt" while reporting a post is a bit... weird. Also poor strategy.

Carry on, boys.

Woobification? Please stop making me pull up Urban Dictionary.

It shouldn't, but a lot of people who don't read comics are going to go watch this movie. It makes sound business sense for Warner Bros to back off on the abuse and misogyny from Joker. They still showed he uses and abuses her, but they made it less inflammatory. I can respect and understand that.

And for the true Joker/Harley relationship, I still have the comics. I mean, Joker cut his own face off at one point. That's NEVER going to make it to the big screen.

Harley's portrayal in this movie doesn't just pander to fangirls, but fanboys as well. One need only look at her outfit to see that. The words Male Gaze are bigger than her shorts, which are almost more of a belt than anything else.

I dunno, not having seen the movie I can't speak to it, but I have the feeling the toning down her her abuse at the hands of Joker was to also sugar-coat it for the fanboy audience. It's a lot easier to oggle someone when you can overlook the fact that they're being exploited by the other characters.

Nah, I'm still not with it. Censorship is dumb. I think it's clear that this movie originally was a lot more somber and darker, but they decided to appeal to the marvel audience halfway through.

Lol, yeah right. It was done to appease the same crowd of buffoons who couldn't handle Joker menacing a teary-eyed Batgirl on a comic book cover.

Debate me... after I see the movie. Besides, I've always wanted to do a full on review for the DC films since I've seen a good portion of all Marvel films.

As for 39, it's not the review, it's this. What I considered the straw which broke the camel's back, but I'll keep it short due to length:

The team got shown plenty.
I know Zarius responded first and probably caused the response, but still, what's done is done. I have no control over if someone is angry over not following source material or it's not a good movie, that's for me to find out via reviews. Back to business.

You have to look at it from a business point of view. Too much abuse against the female lead would naturally cause outrage from casual viewers. That means fewer ticket sales and bad press. They pretty much HAD to cut some of that out. It makes sense, whether we like it or not.

I do still hate that choice of outfit. I mean, we see in a short scene the original jester uniform... it's pretty terrible. I still maintain that the Arkham City wardrobe would be perfect. Right amount of sex appeal without everything just hanging out.

What annoys me, is that the original costume was considered, and she even in a scene holds the unitard.

There's a flashback to her actually wearing it. It looked terrible in the movie. Did not translate well at all.

I remember that bullsh*t. Toning villains down for being "problematic" is so stupid. It'll probably happen with Vader in Rouge One as well thanks to Kathleen K.

It's a DC movie, it's going to get backlash no matter what happens. This f*cking movie is ALREADY being accused of racism and sexism.

I'm sick of it all. Every movie is political. Nothing is fun anymore. Everyone has an agenda.

Well at least we know who here in the thread approves of implied sexual assault of a minor.

Nothing about that cover had implied sexual assault on it. You're seeing RAPE everywhere you go, Tumblr.

Gold, I'm really sorry, but you're losing credit to me man.

"Like I should listen to you" is what HE posted. I used it because he did. Hence, he instigated it. The rest of that post is just me saying his opinion isn't the only one

If all you can see in these threads is "me starting things" you're not looking then

Most of the people raging at that cover didn't even read comics. All these SJW's and nu-males do is look for more stuff to get upset about regardless of how small or insignificant it is. Gotta get mad at those funnybooks guys!
