It's a shame we don't get a Shredder. Since Playmates can't comprehend the concept of scale, he would have been as tall as the "Classics" Turtles, making him more suited to be scaled with the Revoltech Turtles.

Movie turtles are not out yet where i live but you know i'm gonna buy doubles.
It wasn't though. Playmats have done Collector's figures before. Playmates is more then just TMNT.

It's all he's about anymore. Earlier tonight he made a thread scolding us for not buying the Classics figures.

yeah I saw that. I wish I could have posted there, but I was asleep.

I guess that's why my other post in this thread was so long, as I wanted to add at least the short list of the issues i have with the TMNTC figures.

I don't know but here in the Netherlands (and in Italy as well, as i might recall) they were cheaper than ML...
I bought mine 19 euros, and my brother bought his Mike for 12 euro on sale.

The ML and DC stuff are more on the 25-30 euros price range.

This has already been discussed to death, Shredder and Krang were destined to fail 'cos they are tall figures. But many in this forum were able to accept the flaw in scale, as long as they release it.

Guess you must be thrilled now they cancelled it 'cos scale is such a problem to you. You should go get that highly detailed 12 inch Krang....

looking at the basics with the 80's homage looks a bit hilarious. Exact same figures, the initials are just printed on the old belts

Why would they be destined to fail? They should be 6-7 inches tall, and that's what the TMNTC figures are regardless of their actual scale. So Shredder would be in scale with other useful figures.

I'm not thrilled, but I'm also not surprised. happened when Bandai screwed up with Thundercats Classics. The line could have been easily fixed with minor tweaks.

The 12 inch Krang is pretty great looking, so yeah. I might get it if I can afford it. At least someone can make collector based figures, even though it's a super expensive piece. But, there aren't that many alternatives.

'cos Playmates will never repackage their figures for bigger/taller figures and even if they did, they can't do it while maintaining the current price tag.

Of course you're gonna say, just increase the price but we don't live in a perfect world and can't always have what we want.

So yeah, destined to fail.

When have you ever seen playmates ever change their packaging to accommodate a bigger/taller figure? And how are they gonna maintain their price point whilst doing that?

Just not gonna happen.

Who's talking about bigger figures? Again, what are you talking about, what are you referring too?

As far as a i know, Playmates never once said they were 6 inch scale figures.
They only ever said 6 inches figures which is true.

So what do you suggest they do to fix this situation now that the turtles are 6 inches.... release 6 inches Shredder and Krang or..... ?

Okay. I'm gonna do this nice and easy so you can comprehend it.

The TMNTC figures are slightly over 6 inches tall. Okay?

They aren't in-scale with each other. Okay?

So, by that. Krang and Shredder would be the same height as the Turtles. A bit over 6 inches. Okay? You with me so far?

Same height. as the Turtles. Making them (Shredder and Krang) more in-scale to an actual 1/12th scale (1/12th scale means 1 inch represent 1 foot, ie a 6 feet tall person would be 6 inches tall).

Which means they shouldn't be bigger usign the TMNTC wakcy size logic, okay?

6 inches would be a nice size for a Shredder and Krang Figure.

The TMNTC Turtles are still too big, but TMNTC Shredder and TMNTC Krang would fit other collector based TMNT action figures, such as the NECA Turtles or the Revoltech Turtles.

Am I clearer now?

1. What do you mean the turtles are not in scale with each other? All the turtles are the same height in the 80s cartoon.

2. You want 6 inches shredder and krang so it will scale with your neca turtles and he-man figures? So Playmates should just ignore their past 6 inches TMNTC turtles and focus on making Shredder and krang scale with your NECA? Got it.... makes perfect sense.

3. You're so big on scaling, but i wonder why you're blind to the fact that Krang Android is taller than Shredder. But you want both of them at 6 inches.

Are you high? Am I writing in some archaic dead language and you don't understand me?

The TMNTC line figures are in the 6 inch size, regardless of scale ( in a 1/12th scale the turtles should be 5 inches not over 6) which means Shredder would be 6 inches tall. Hence a good size for a Shredder.

the damage is done, but a Classics Shredder could have been usable.

What?! they sold badly? My stores sold them within the few first days they got them, whenever they got them and I never saw Bebop or Rocksteady as classics figures in my only store.

So, actually, it is a surprise.

Glad he asked about Human Karai, too. Every little helps. If enough people ask, maybe Playmates will provide. Maybe.
