Will Fast Forward Be the End of the TMNT

I'm watching the 'Rider before TMNT easily, I'm a Marvel supporter first and a TMNT fan second, or third, or fourth..., and one of Ghost Rider's biggest fans, GR does'nt have much mainstream exposure, less now than it did in the 90's, but it's a little prepostrous to say TMNT will "kill it easily", Shredder is'nt even in this one bar possible flashbacks, who the hell in the mainstream will watch a movie without a present day battle between him and the Turtles?

I don't think a PG movie will lose any money to an R movie. They attract completely different crowds, and the lower the rating, the more people that can get in. that's why the summer is filled with PG-13 movies, and the fall is filled with unrated DVD releases. I don't think ghost Rider is popular enough to stay in the theraters as long as a PG (kids) movie. heros like Spiderman and the X-Men are more and better recognised by people, young and old. Ghost Rider is like the Punisher and Daredevil; not very well know, and probbaly won't do wery well in the theater. it'll all depend on the trailers and how well each are advertised. Most people wouldn't want to see either, or they'll just hate both. A lot of people hate marvel movies, and old fans on the ninja turtles might see it and not like it because it's not what they remember; the same reason they don't or may not like the new toon. I think Ghost rider will look better as it probably has a higher budget. Unless this generic studio can pull it off and make the CGI not look like a playstation game.

I don't know anyone that is afraid to admit they like, or liked, the ninja turtles. The people I know aren't so shallow that they're afradi to see a kids movie. If anyhting, they can't afford to go to the moives and wait until someone they know rents or buys it.

You forget that with a kids movies comes the whole family. As I learend with Ice Age, that means mom, dad, brother, sister, and anyone else in the house. I'm not comparing it to ice Age, just saying that it's very annoying to see a kids movie on opening weekend. And where are the studies that say 17 and up think CG is lame? it's all on the fan base. Kids will want to see it for the CG, and teens and young adults will want to see it because they're fans.

Of course your gonna see GR before TMNT. As I said in my previous post, I checked again. GR comes out early February, TMNT is coming out at the end of March. GR will most likely be out of theatres, or lose all it's hype before TMNT comes out. So TMNT is safe, and it's coming out 2 months before Spider-Man 3 and all the big sequals, so it's in a safe spot.

Families, familes don't go to movies togther really, it's too expensive now of days. I'm basing this on my area. But in my area that is how it is. The theaters are dead here. And if the theaters are dead in Cali, which houses Hollywood, I don't see them being much better in other states.

People go to the movies around DC. It's not as big as it used to be (they've closed several historic theatres) but it's very much alive.

So TMNT is safe, and it's coming out 2 months before Spider-Man 3 and all the big sequals, so it's in a safe spot.

They should just combine them into the same movie.

sorry to burst your bubble spitfire but as expensive as theaters are these days...they are always packed here in hollywood...family, dates, & friends flood in to see the crap fest that is the movie world today!

Well that's good news. But here, San Fran, Santa Cruz, and LA seem to have pretty empty theaters...

I saw Ice Age openeing night. I haen't been in a theater that crowded since Halloween 6. All of the kids really brought down my movie expericne. I wish families didn't go and watch movies together, but they do. If their kid(s) want to see it, they'll probably take them. Children tickets cost less, and if they go before 5 o'clock, the tickets are only $6. (I live in Ohio)

There were lots of kids when I saw Ice Age II, but I thought it enhanced the "movie experience" to hear them react to it. Kids don't react the same way to jokes as I do. Of course, I wasn't actually sitting NEXT to any of them, so maybe that made me appreciate them more.

Theatres here suck cause Edwards isn't owned by the family no more. AMC ain't too good either. Krikorians are okay.
And people wait "until it's out on DVD"; that's the attitude. I think one day theatres will be obsolete, if not now. I hate theatres, they're expensive to get into, consessions is expensive. I limit myself to the kiddie combos.

The reason concessions are so expensive is because most theatres can't really turn a profit on ticket sales. If you think about it, it makes sense. They have to split the ticket revenue with moviemakers, and most people only see movies on Friday or Saturday night. Me, I bring my own water and a bit of candy and I'm set. But you're right, it's easy to see why cinemas might become rare novelties, like drive-ins.

I do like seeing movies on the big screen-- it's fab for action and fantasy movies. Plus I like being in the theatre with people I don't know. I saw Inspector Gadget in-theatre because I LOVE the whole I.G. thing (sentimental value mostly) (and I like Broderick)... but it was a really stupid movie. What made up for that were enthusiastic fans in the audience who cheered for the Gadget-copter.

Anyway, I know that with Ninja Turtles there are going to be fans like that in the audience, and I look forward to it. Even if they yell "cowabunga!" And you know they will.

I sat in an area with no one, and within 10 minutes the seats around me filled in with a few families. I had a mom two seast down laughing at jokes she probbaly didn't understand. then two of her kids had to keep walking past me to sit next to her because the father was in the row in front of them with more kids. The only open seats were in the first three rows.

I like being the only person in a theater when I see the movie. I think the movie experience is better in a theater. it's bigger, louder, and just a better way the view the film. I also never buy anything from the stands. I can't afford that. Ii'll either wait 90 minutes to 180 minutes (King Kong) to eat/drink or go to the bathroom, or i'll eat before I go to the movies.
