True, I also expect them to put those Season 10 episodes on the final boxset again (four of them were bonus eps on the 1st set), in their proper order when we get up to it.

I'm actually expecting all 24 episodes of Seasons 8-10 to be put on the same boxset together, since they all represent the final opening and ending of the original series.

Here's hoping we get a Season 6 boxset sometime in Nov/Dec, and then a Season 7 boxset comes out April '08, and we get a Seasons 8-10 boxset sometime after that in mid '08. That would be ideal and what I'm hoping for, so we should have all of the original series on DVD by the middle of '08 if all goes well.

Then, the Season 3 can be revisited with a flimsy lil' cardboard box. But, what would it take for non-collectors to punchase said set? I'm sure bonus interviews would be a welcome addition. And, would anyone but me like to see them reissue Season 1 with an option to see the uncut eps or 'The Epic Begins'? It would just be so much more appropriate than a handful of random eps from Season 10 plus I have the morbid curiosity of just how badly they butchered the pilot mini-series.

I would like to see that too. I am intrigued at the idea of seeing any footage that would have been cut from any of the eps, especially the pilot mini-series

me also I didn't even know anything was cut? so what exactly had been cut?

Not sure myself, but had read somewhere the "Epic Begins" video basically condensed the story into 76, or 78, minutes -- something around that amount.

Edit: Just looked it up on ninjaturtles.com, and the video's run-time is listed as 72 minutes. At any rate, quite a bit would have to be cut for the 5 episode story to be condensed to, like, 3 eps.-worth of time.

"The Epic Begins" essentially cuts out there entire Baxter episode. Which is an odd plothole, since the Turtles return to Baxters workshop to build the Turtle Van and Blimp in the next eps.

Well it has been awhile since I watched that and my dvd's are back in los angeles I'm clear across the country right now haha

Not the DVD. The condensed movie version that was released as the first Turtles DVD in some parts of Europe.

"THE EPIC BEGINS" was actually released direct-to-video in April of '88. This was the original pilot mini-series edited into a feature-length movie. If you take into account that the opening theme and credits take up 1.5 minutes, "THE EPIC BEGINS" only has 70.5 minutes of content. That's 43.5 minutes of ep content that they edited out, 2 full eps worth! BTW, that took me a few minutes to calculate, so I'm being thorough here. When a Scandinavian DVD-rip surfaced on the 'net back in 2002, it was "THE EPIC BEGINS" (not in English, of course). When Artisan was ready to do their release for the US, Neil (aka Vegita-San) and I tracked them down and asked about the project. They were planning on making the first volume "THE EPIC BEGINS" and subsequent DVDs 3 eps each. With a queasy feeling, we found it necessary to suggest a different approach. I sent in the news to ToonZone, and next I hear, Artisan changed their plans to the uncut first season and "never-seen episodes". Later, I read that it was David Wise himself who lobbied for the change of plan. After the DVD came out, and I saw that the bonus eps were nothing I hadn't already seen (and being a little irritated by how awkward the set was), I started thinking then how cool it would have been to see for myself what was cut from "THE EPIC BEGINS".

I think I still have that VHS. I know I was torn about getting rid of it since it hasn't technically been released on DVD. But like I would watch the edited version anyways...

Exactly. It's nothing I'd watch more than once, but I'd like to have it just for the sake of historical accuracy.

No news as of yet, probably just an early production error or something. Maybe they're counting Planet of the Turtleoids as 1 episodes? Though that would still make 19 if you don't count Turtles and the Hare.

How was saying I like my dvd's uncut talking about teenage mutant ninja turtles dvd's and then making sexual joke and only it being a joke makes it really not even relivant so the thing is I'm talking about tmnt dvd releases and how I like them not to be cut.

Way to confuse me... Anyway, it's Molly Bode's guide that they've been following since they started releasing DVDs. According to that guide, there were 22 eps (counting "PLANET OF THE TURTLEOIDS" as two). The two Hokum Hare eps were of the syndicated bunch, and "PLANET OF THE TURTLEOIDS" was aired a few times on primetime around when the Fall '91 CBS season started, but was never reaired on Saturday mornings in my area (except maybe for that time or two it reran on USA Network; the only CBS ep they ever played). So, for them suggesting that there are only 18 eps on this 3-disc set, that would reasonably be excluding the Hokum Hare and Turtleoid eps leaving only the 18 eps of the Fall '91 CBS season proper.

Just thought I'd mention that this is now on amazon.com. They say that it's only one DVD though even though the cover says 3. LOL! Can one DVD fit 18 episodes? It'll probably change once they put the episode listing up if in fact it is more than one disc.
