Don't look at me -- I was talking about Bebop and Rocksteady's yen for eggrolls. Heh. I'll fill up the rest, to be sure.

Anyway, anyone have any thoughts about the running gag with Bebop and the mice? Amazing how Bebop whipped out a mouse so quickly..., as he carries a mouse on his person at all times, apparently.

Actually, I don't find that terribly hard to believe. The only weird part is that a live mouse is content to actually STAY in Bebop's pocket!

If nothing else, it would make for a funny comedy bit. Shredder orders them to empty their pockets for some reason, and out comes the mouse or mice. Hilarity ensues.

Then again, the punks don't bathe much, or so we're told, so maybe it isn't so strange. Rats are not the most santitary creatures, unless you're Splinter. And if the rats have fleas, oh, dear....

Or, to jump ahead in the series, imagine if he had the mouse whenever the Rat King first appear. Oh, dear.

I'm clearly becoming amused by this gag, and I don't know why. Heh. Guess it worked, after all. Thank you, Richard Merwin.

I did, albeit several years later, in 1992. Better late than never.

Searched around the now-dead Cowabunga Cartoon Classics blog for its sketch of Cat April, intended for the main toy line in 1990. It's a shame Playmates didn't go for it, but they somewhat corrected the matter, two years later with the Mutations line.

December 1985 coverdate. Its possible that its the same cat breed out of a nod to the Mirage comics but its just as possible to be a coincidence. The episode is written by Richar Merwin. I am not familar with him but if a fellow mega fan might know a Facebook/Twitter/email contact to ask.

I've been wanting to get in touch with Richard Merwin for a while for the Fan Commentaries. Do you have any contact information on him?

A quick search and I found his LinkedIn page. That might be something to go on. I looked through Facebook adn Twitter as well but while there are multiple Richard Merwin entries I cannot pinpoint which if any is him. I hope that is good enough of a start at least...

Yeah, that LinkedIn account was the only thing I could find. I'd rather not use that as it is more of a professional contact service, but it might have to do if I can't find anything better.
