I see what Andrew is saying. Kirk made his living off of talking. There’s archives of him running up his mouth bill for ~40 hours a week for over a decade. People just trotted out his absolute worst takes (out of context), even if it didn’t really jive with his main messaging. Certainly shouldn’t warrant a death sentence.

Which again, he just had mainstream conservative politics. My boomer uncles and white trash coworkers all say/think the same things.

And to expose the nastier side of what Kirk did…

Quote:
‘Journalist and college professor Stacey Patton goes viral by penning a stunningly powerful statement about how she was on Charlie Kirk’s “digital hit list” and recounting the horror that he inflicted on her.

We cannot allow this tragic assassination to whitewash Kirk’s legacy…

“I am on Charlie Kirk’s hit list,” Patton wrote to her 215,000 followers on Facebook. “His so-called ‘Professor Watchlist,’ run under the umbrella of Turning Point USA, is nothing more than a digital hit list for academics who dare to speak truth to power. I landed there in 2024 after writing commentary that inflamed the MAGA faithful. And once my name went up, the harassment machine roared to life.”

“For weeks my inbox and voicemail were deluged. Mostly white men spat venom through the phone: ‘bitch,’ ‘c*nt,’ ‘n****r.’ They threatened all manner of violence,” she continued.

“They overwhelmed the university’s PR lines and the president’s office with calls demanding that I be fired,” Patton wrote. “The flood was so relentless that the head of campus security reached out to offer me an escort, because they feared one of these keyboard soldiers might step out of his basement and come do me harm.”

“And I am not unique,” she added.

“Kirk’s Watchlist has terrorized legions of professors across this country. Women, Black faculty, queer scholars, basically anyone who challenged white supremacy, gun culture, or Christian nationalism suddenly found themselves targets of coordinated abuse,” Patton wrote.

“Some received death threats. Some had their jobs threatened. Some left academia entirely. Kirk sent the loud message to us: speak the truth and we will unleash the mob!” she continued.

“That is the culture of violence Charlie Kirk built. He normalized violence. He curated it, monetized it, and sicced it on anyone who dared to puncture his movement’s lies,” she wrote.

“And now, in the wake of his shooting, there’s all this national outpouring of mourning, moments of silence, yellow prayer hands, and tributes painting him as a civil debater,” Patton continued. “But the truth is that Kirk and his foot soldiers spent years terrorizing educators, trying to silence us with harassment and fear!”

“And now the same violence he unleashed on others has come full circle.”

“But what i find especially jarring is the dissonance in public mourning for a smug white man whose life work was actively hostile to certain groups,” she continued. “Kirk spent years demonizing LGBTQ people, mocking gun survivors, spewing racism about Black folks, and pushing policies that literally shorten lives.”

“It is so revolting to watch a bipartisan wave of grief sweep over this hateful racist as if he was a neutral community servant,” she concluded.

This is pure unvarnished truth from Patton. Charlie Kirk did not deserve what happened to him, but nor did his victims deserve the hell that he unleashed on them. If Americans are going to build a more peaceful future for ourselves we must condemn political violence while also condemning the hateful, bigoted rhetoric that made Kirk a multimillionaire.’

May I ask that people refrain from talking until more facts come out?

The Mauser rifle, the Turkish ammunition, both possibly military surplus? A lot of post-war rifles were “bubba-tised” by a lot of distributors and owners as hunting rifles including rebarelling them for the western 30-06 round. Other wise the 98 series sells for around $15k according to their website.

I need to do more research. Ian McCollum of Forgotten Weapons will probably have a video out soon.

In the meantime, people should Netflix and Chill for the next couple of days to avoid saying or doing something that they might regret later.

I guess where we disagree is of leftists embracing an ideology of killing political opponents and gloating about it. While even just one leftist doing it is too alarmingly high and there are such cases, the vast majority have rightfully condemned it.

To use the small sample size of the Drome as an example, even the more staunch leftists here such as Mayhem, Barkworm and Galactus do not condone the killing, despite their unfavourable views of Kirk and the discussion across both threads getting rather heated.

It's not the heartless people who mocked his death which made me concerned about his death being exploited, but rather the call to ban all leftist organisations coming from the likes of Laura Loomer, and the mass smearing of the Left for the attack (such as by Trump) despite the facts that we don't know the killer's full political beliefs and that most Leftists condemn the violence.

Shredder and Krang combined had the biggest arsenal of any villains in all of the cartoons.

Eh, not really. American politics is a zero-sum game. It’s just a bunch of entertainers and grifters getting rich off people who treat politics like football. Doesn’t really matter who you vote for. Deep State is undefeated in elections since 1964 lol.

I don’t like Trump and I can’t imagine falling for MAGA, but on the other hand… putting myself in the shoes of a normal working class person who has some modicum of faith in the system, I look at the the American “left” and see:

- People like you online talking like “hur hur hur, Drumph went poopy in his Covfefe diapey!” Yikes.

- The billionaire/corporate class pushing racial/gender/cultural division for some reason.

- The MSM just straight up lying about stuff like Covid, race riots and the dying old man y’all cruelly ran for President instead of putting him in the home. And then… bizarrely turning on him in the middle of an election over ONE bad debate? What?

- The FBI being politicized and weaponized against Trump. (And to be fair he has now gone and put ****ing podcasters in charge on the bureau, so there you go lol)

All that considered, I don’t really blame any normal person for voting republican, even if I never would.

I think the main take generally from people of all sides over here in the run up to the US election last year was “can the GoP not find anyone better than Trump to be candidate?”

Which was a fairly sorry state of affairs. Most Republican presidents have had some degree of support and appreciation. Even Dubya. It’s uniquely notable that the vast majority are very anti Trump mostly for the person he is and what he represents.

My disdain for the current administration is purely built on that. People could have done much better and I don’t only mean voting Harris instead.

So it looks like the right is screenshotting the left's thoughts on Kirk, find out who they are and sent them to their employers. A lot of people (surprisingly a lot of them seem to be teachers) are losing their jobs over this.

Also with the shooter caught, it turns out that while he was raised conservative he eventually got radicalized by leftist ideologies. The left is conveniently ignoring the second half of that sentence.

Apparently there's a pic going around of the shooter wearing a Trump shirt which was photoshopped of him wearing a regular shirt. People claim he was dressed as Trump for Halloween, when he was actually dressing up as a guy riding some sort of inflatable Trump thing as a horse.

The narratives are rolling all over the place.

I am surprised that the right is now embracing cancel culture. I don't remember the left trying to get the right fired over comments made about George Floyd. Maybe talk, but not screenshots sent to employers.

You missed the update, he was likely a groyper, even more right wing than MAGA.

You do realise I’m British right? When I say “over here” I’m talking Europe. Just sad that a con man conned his way into power again.

So I’m seeing a New York Post report saying the shooter lived with a trans lover, citing a “law enforcement” source.

Literally not seeing that anywhere else other than right wing chud grifter accounts running with it hard because they’re desperate.

Every other report I’ve seen says he still lived at home with his parents.

I wasn't going to say anything about this event, but then I found out the shooter's bullet casings all had shitpost engravings like “If you read this you are gay LMAO.”. The one empty casing, so probably the one to hit him, was engraved with "notices, bulges, OwO what's this?".

In case you don't know, that last one is a meme making fun of furries and horny people:
https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/notic...owo-whats-this

So it would seem to me that shooter's motive was to make a joke. That's just really bizarre.

Yeah, came to say this. But of course people aren’t letting it go.

A lot of shoddy reporting from the MSM on this… and sus behavior from the FBI from the very beginning.
