2013 TMNT Figures

I just checked mine. One I just got and the other I got even before they hit the shelves during the first wave with the "Ninja Arsenal" sticker on it. They both have the same brush strokes. Each of mine shimmer the same depending on the how the light hits it.

I suspected as such. Well that's good, I really don't feel like tracking down a Kraang variant

The Kraang figures have been like that since last year.
Some figures just have that metallic paint in spots and some just don't.

Kraangs have been going higher on eBay... I think they might have been discontinued along with April.

The 2004 TCG went under the radar since people felt that they were so over with Pokemon's (which is still going strong along with MTG and others), so its only natural to try a new version. I hope its an easier to understand version like Pokemon rather than a complex MTG to appeal to a broad audience before making the game more challenging but by having a simple Good vs. Evil like Star Wars' TCG was. Have various locations, weapons, enemies, friends, special abilities, and events along with single and multi-character battles. It better have an April O'Neil card since the 2004 game never had one!

After the post-Christmas lull, activity is picking up with Easter/Springtime so expect a sale by Toys R' Us soon in case you missed the BOGO sale. I also enjoy how some figures can blend in with the vintage line or for multiverse possibilities.

Hey guys just so you know Kmart is having a sale right now on their TMNT toys. I think it lasts all week. I saw the Pop Up Pizza set for $22 and the basic figs for like $6.99 I think? Go get em while they're still there!

They generally do that sort of thing... 2K3 had the box sets, Don & Leo vs Shredder.... Casey & Raph vs Hun. Granted, no comic books... but it's a great idea.

Had a nice shipment of Kraang in McAlester, Oklahoma...bought all of them haha

I guess they are starting to re-integrate more Kraang in each shipment.

Forgive my noob-ness but why can't I find the "original" set(ie. Fish Face, Dogpound, Metalhead) in stores anymore? They're like 2x normal price on Amazon and all I see in stores are the ooze flippin' ones or something.

Playmates banked too much on the ooze turtles, they aren't selling so well. sadly this means they will clog shelves and prevent stores from ordering more figures. All you can do is check other stores... metalhead, fishface and dogpound are definitely not that hard to locate. wal-mart is the best but target and toys r us as well.

maybe this will teach them to not under articulate their figures... haha... I think the Ooze turtles would have been awesome if they just had articulation at the legs, knees and elbows... Oh well.

i still want the stealth turtles that are coming later this year... looks like similar articulation but they look a bit cooler. after those though they NEED to cut back on the turtle variants. maybe one set per year unless they can come up with some compelling ideas

cont'd: Saddens me to say but I'm pretty sure these figures (Baxter, Leatherhead, and Snakeweed) are just coming out in April, guys......I've had my hopes up for too long and I'm worn out. *sigh* I'll just wait until I see that Playmates updates their website with the official pics of the figures. When the last wave (Dogpound, Fishface, Metalhead) was being released, I wasted so much gas, time, and effort hitting up toy stores everyday, faithfully until I just gave out........and then a member on this forum (Jester, I think) posted: "Hey Playmates just updated the website." (or something to that effect) ...and sure enough, all the stores in my city had that wave....

Coincidence....? I think not.


...and thanks @therealdon for the BOGO heads up. I need some more foot soldiers! ...and I think I'm gonna finally break down and buy multiple Kraang. Part of my brain is still stuck in the 80's when the original cartoon was out and that part says "THERE'S ONLY ONE KRAANG!" but I'm becoming more open to the idea of replicating that in my own display which currently only features one Kraang. ...but if playmates had released all the different versions of the Kraang in the Nick series (Human form, Blue form) as figures I definitely would already have multiple Kraang...
