Since Mewtwo is obviously not the only character they're working on for DLC, I expect him to be released in a character pack to be sold for people who don't own both versions, I can see something like this:

Newcomers:

- Mewtwo
- Dixie Kong
- Ridley (playable)

Veterans pack:

- Wolf
- Ice Climbers
- Lucas (?)

They're not going to spend 6 months working on a single character. That's nonsensical, there will most likely be 4-5 characters they're working on at the same time. They only revealed Mewtwo now because they're obviously early in development.

The process, however, of actually creating a character often takes well over a year, where we are constantly working on the model, the animations, the audio and the balancing.

You do realize there were over 10 newcomers in SSB4, right? You want to know how they made 10+ new characters? They worked on them all at the same time.

It may takes months to make a character, but you can sure as bet they're not spending all their time on one character. They work on multiple characters simultaneously.

Anyone who seriously believes that Mewtwo will be the ONLY DLC character for SSB4 is out of their minds. Saying such a thing on any of the gaming forums would get you openly mocked.

If you'd learn how to read, I've never said they weren't. I just find it ridiculous that you insist that they are as opposed to could potentially be based on conjecture.

I would be a happy chappy if this happens. I guess we will know more closer to the time. I am not going to set my self up for disappointment, so ill just get it in my mind all we get for now is Mewto.

Careful now, I said that there would be more character dlc for Marvel vs Capcom 3 when they revealed Jill and Shuma, but everyone knows that didn't happen. However, being Sakurai, I have no doubt that there will be more characters as dlc. That guy is an absolute work horse.

Amiibo's look like a waste of money to me, maybe if I were 10 years younger I might be interested, but not now.

I can't see how guys in their mid-late 20's are interested in computer chip toys. If you guys want Nintendo figures there are better stuff out there from Japan to buy.

For those of us pushing 30 its hard to justify in our old age.

Uh? No? You can't show me ANYTHING worth getting outside of the Link/Samus Figma or the Figuarts Mario, all of which are three to four times more expensive than a single Amiibo. You can get a few Nendroid Nintendo things, like the Wind Waker Link or Luigi, or the Medicom Nintendo line, which again is more expensive than a single Amiibo. Regardless, this is a line of decent quality Nintendo figures that will include the likes of Villager, Little Mac and Captain Falcon. That sh*t just doesn't exist.

As someone with Nintendo Medicom figures, gashapon figures, Figmas, etc, I'm still excited about the Amiibos. The price is a ****ing fraction of most of those lines, the detail is -in most cases- better (as it seems now), and they have unique features/uses.

Figmas look fantastic, sure. But they're $50/per. Medicom figures look neat, and have various aesthetics, but for one stationary figure, they're probably about $18-$30 to import/purchase.

Animal Crossing has more volume in regards to figures, but they're incredibly expensive.

What ****ing mystery Japan figures are you possibly referring to? And of those phantom lines, where is my Fox figure, or a decent representation of Zelda? Or goddamn Little Mac?

Also, trying to import that Japanese stuff? If you don't want to pay an insane amount, good luck with the gamble of not getting a bootleg piece of **** (and still paying a bundle).

You do realize Pikachu and Princess Peach are in this game, right? You draw the line between that and a figurine?

I mean, I don't see the point in a figurine that doesn't do anything. (Personally, I'm hoping the figurines detach from the base, so I don't have to carry that thing around.) But this is a CPU character that you get to level up, carry place to place, and include in matches as an opponent or an ally. I think that's pretty darn cool.
