That's only how scummy DLC works, brah. smash is so full of content that even if it had $50 worth of DLC in the next year, it wouldn't detract from the derth of content in the base game.

Its rather obvious there will be more DLC other than Mewtwo coming. This will also allow Nintendo to make more Amiibo's after they finish the current roster, its all easy money.

Judging by Sakurai's comments about "current games" I suppose Captain Toad is a possibility, and hopefully we finally get Dixie Kong due to Tropical Freeze and her being a mascot from the 90's.

Fighters are like the hardest DLC to make. You basically have to re-balance the game. That's why DLC characters are always planned from start, and withheld, even though devs know we hate it.

This roster is already huge. And there are two editions of the game, between which they've gone to great lengths to preserve parity. AND we know the balancing of the two games was done separately, and was the reason they didn't launch together. So, it'd be a crap-ton of work. I think DLC fighters are the very last kind of DLC we should expect, now that both games are out the door.

But hey, they can give us levels and music all day. I'll buy that $#!% up.

Uuuuuggggh, you guys! I broke down and pre-loaded the game on my Wii U earlier tonight, despite having a copy paid off at Best Buy. I couldn't help myself!

Yep, got my game started early too, which was a nice surprise.

Wily Castle sucks. Like, seriously. I thought people who've played the stage were just overreacting... But they're not. Yellow Devil does not stop spawning. You kill him and he respawns like fifteen seconds later. WTF is that?

Well, I got about three hours of sleep. Now, I'll be working a full day before heading straight to a friend's house for a late night of play. We'll actually have eight people!

Amiibo are really fun.

I am happy they separated zero and reg samus. That handicapped me immensely when Brawl first came out lol even though I some how got good at it again

Oh I know that feeling lol I was amazing at Melee. Then Brawl was a ridiculous monkey wrench in my playing style. Hopefully this one is better for me

I have two issues. Events have no restart button, which sucks. The other is that that anything past 4 player Smash is way too insane and easy to get lost in, especially when there are colour alts of your character in it, and they use it in pretty much every mode. I already can't count the amount of times I died in a 6 person explosion of nonsense where I just didn't know where the f*ck I was.

I am definitely going to get Shulk, just as a Xeno fan. I almost went to TRU today since they have a 3 for $30 sale on amiibo but i'm torn on how I feel about them.

Yup, picked some up at lunch. I got a Mario and Marth for myself and a Kirby for my nephew. I pre-ordered Link, Samus and Villager from Amazon when they first went up, but now I regret it, because I saw all of them today and my Amazon order won't be here until Monday.

Marth is bad, but everyone else looked awesome.

I don't have the game yet, how is Ridley in the Metroid stage? Does he actually do anything interesting?

He's actually great, because he's a threat to the entire stage. He isn't slightly obnoxious like the Yellow Devil. It feels like there's a threat bigger than the other fighters on the stage at all times. I was sceptical, but they pulled it off having a boss stage hazard actually be really cool. He does one attack horizontally across the stage where everyone just sorta forgets they're fighting and tries desperately to avoid him. He's easily the best part of that stage.

Okay, so for someone who thought the Yellow Devil made that stage unplayable in its default form, do you think Ridley is like... better? Or will I hate him even more?

I have to wait for a friend in the states to get me eshop credit to buy for my Wii U. I just don't have eshop credit and that's my only way of buying it since I'm not in the US basically. But even though I missed the launch its probably good and I probably won't play it until two weeks since I'm in finals at school right now. Maybe I can find in the meantime I can look for and find some Gamecube usb adapters.

I'm a little pissed off about the exclusive amiibo's, mostly for the reason stated above that I'm not living in the US. And don't want to be charged up the wazoo for them. Shulk I wasn't sure if I wanted to buy. But I would've liked Lucario and I definitely want Metaknight...

I also thought the Yellow Devil was awful. The problem with Yellow Devil was that the stage seemed like it was designed and he was dropped in afterwards. Pryosphere feels like it was designed around Ridley and it would actually be bad without him.
