Well, actually, there were quite a few people in "I, Monster" if you think about it, but that was because it was daytime. Still, it was nice to see some other people on the streets, and there were a few in "TCRI" as the Turtles were chasing the Kraang ship.

As for Slash's design, it's okay, but it definitely could be better. Still, I'm anxious to find out how he'll be written and what he'll sound like. I have a feeling he may not be an ally for the Turtles for a long time and eventually may turn into a villain later, but we'll see.

Slash's skin color is turquoise which is a nice throwback to the original Playmates toy figure.

I'm betting that after his first few appearences he sets out to find his own way, or becomes trapped in dimension x. Thus he stays a hero/anti hero and can aid the guys in future episodes. Maybe he will even "evolve" more in dimension x and his head will look more traditional as a result of it. Who knows other than the Nick writers?

Slash as a good guy would feel boring if he stays that way. Judging by his design he'll sort of come off as a turtle version of The Pulverizer.

Hopefully he does go bad for whatever reason later in the season.

Damn, man. Slash is getting some love from the powers that be.

Looking forward to this. One thing I really enjoy about this show is its penchant for introducing new characters and having them later become franchise characters from previous versions. (Rat King, Mutagen Man, and now Slash.)

Its interesting how a character who only appeared in 3 episodes of the original show, only a handful of Archie comics, and had a toy/videogame appearances could make such a huge comeback in IDW and Nick series.

Eh, not a huge surprise to me. He didn't show up often but he was a memorable, visually-arresting character. Like Casey on the old show, his appearances had impact.

I always liked Slash, just never really entirely loved any of his origin stories. I'll have to see how they do it before I can say if I like the new take. It seems cool. I much prefer the classic look, but eh, wasn't my call so I'll get used to it, I guess.

I'm guessing Spike will be the turtles ally at first but there will be a falling out and then he'll become Slash and an enemy.

I was thinking this. His original figure had the sai and Raph uses sai. Maybe eventually Raph will attack him and Slash/Spike will bend one up and keep it.

Spike to Slash, kind of thought that was the route they would go when they said Raph was going to have a a pet turtle. It's nice to see some established franchise characters getting a fresh spin. A new coat of paint if you will. Now I'm excited to see a Slash figure.

If he goes bad, I'm guess it will be Raph's fault. Raph will probably be unable to stop treating him like a pet, ordering him around like a lackey & so on. The turtles will take him into battle with Shredders mutants and Raph will be a jerk to him, trying to make him fight his battles for him. Then Slash gets sick of it, rages out, and goes off alone one night only to be found by Xever & Doggpound who say that if he joins them he'll be treated as an equal.

I'd like to see the Turtles be very protective of him and not let him go on missions because he's never had ninja training which would cause him to be angry and resentful towards the turtles. One night he sneaks out and runs into Karai who begins training him and not to sound all Star Wars but turns him to the dark side and against the turtles. Then you could have an arc surrounding Raph trying to get his friend back.
