Not bad, not bad at all.

The models might work well with cel-shading. It would definitely be interesting to see a TMNT show using cel-shading.

I don't know what's more surprising, the fact that they changed Mikey and Don's weapons slightly; the fact that I don't mind it; or that this is generally well received.

so the mystery is solved, the turtles don't have secondary weapons but Mikey's Chucks and Donnie's Bo have blades that retract.

I'm ok with them in video games...but an animated tv series isn't a video game..so there's always that.

Its almost like they tossed on some materials and didn't bother actually texturing the models; tho I am sure its just the style they are going for. I would assume is to make it easier to animate, no muscle suits or anything like that that I can tell. (It's also possible that they are just pre production model's like in the fight test that they did for the 2007 movie with Leo fighting Raph.)

After I watched it several times tho, I do kind of like the style and it seems somewhat mirage-esque. I have to admit I am liking it more and I am actually believing Nick may deliver a good TMNT show, I am happy that they are not making it like the 80's series. Perhaps it will be a little different than all the past iterations.

I like what they are doing with the show logo, although it made me want to see Eastman & Lairds instead of Nicks name (maybe the show will be darker). The models or at least the head remind me somewhat of Dario Brizuela turtle heads with the smaller lower face. Specifically in the Raph pic that was posted. The turtles themselves seem smaller kind of like the first issue but with a different style.

Here is one I grabbed of Mikey.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I will mention these models are higher polygon counts than a ps2 or game cube game. While not detailed in texture or having any sort of displacement normal maps or anything I can see they are models that wouldn't be in a video game from last generation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=udSLceu27F0 here is a little comparison with an in game model from last gen. Its also re assuring that nick spends upward of $600-$700 thousand on their animated shows per episode. I'll wager that they will look better than they do now in the show but its cool to see the direction its going.

I would lol if this turned out to be a fans interpretation of the image released earlier this week. They do look to be fairly simplistic models to make but I am sure that's not the case. On a side not I was going to make a joke in another topic about if they gave don a spear and they did in this video.
Never posted here, so no offense, but I feel that is an example of bad PS2 graphics. A youtube vid of Metal Gear 3 or something might be better.

There's definitely completed footage. And there's another promo that will reveal a lot more, but not sure when it'll debut.

Does the completed footage look better than this teaser? Just curious if the models for the turtles look any different.

Awesome! I can't wait! Considering that one single image and some flashes of the guys in CG can cause this much discussion (the exact news I was asking you about awhile back ) I think we'll be set to go until next year with the promo you're talking about.

Ooooooo, the new series is gonna be KILLER!!! (Hopefully not LITERALLY, as in them showing the guys (OR the bad guys KILLING people), but you get my drift.

Love it, love it, love it!!! (Heh, can you tell that I LIKE this trailer?!)
