i just realized this thread has "gay" as a tag

anyways, like i said before, legit or not- I would expect the final script to be different from what we read. At least this script would give us an idea of what direction they were thinking about taking for this movie.

How about we just wait for more updates before some of you trash this movie lol

Because those scumbags are destroying the characters. The alien thing probably won't be scraped but destroying the Shredder is unforgivable.

I don't mind Krang, Bebop and Rocksteady but the rest is a slap in the face to the last 30 years of the franchise.

Its actually fans like you that make me wish for things to be as different as possible, so then it might give you the incentive to just say “F##k it, life's too short” and grow up. I mean, I've been reading the little fortune cookies you've been leaving every few posts, and it sounds like you're really suffering. Just let it go.

Oh lord. You always try to turn everything into some sort of bullsh*t grass roots movement.

Every script undergoes massive rewrites and this film is very specifically in a rewrite phase.

How could they not have Shredder and the Foot be ninja's? Makes no sense.

1. Set up an appointment with a therapist.
2. Go there. Seriously.
3. Try to be a better human being.

I hope you find happiness some day, and that it isn't TMNT-related. You soooo need it.

You get fans involved and you get a movie that is inaccessible to other people.

Wait, what was so wrong about Freddy Vs. Jason? Had stupid teens, sex and all kinds of violence. What did you expect out of that movie? Shakespere?
If I had to choose, I would rather have JJ Abrams than Michael Bay. And I would never expect them to hire fans.

Where are Fred Wolf and Lionsgate in all this? If the film has Krang, the Technodrome and Rocksteady and Beebop isn't that considered making a derivative work of the OT? Wouldn't they have to pay royalties?

Freddy vs Jason was supposed to be a classic. It would have been nice if it were scary for even a second. It wasn't the same hockey mask that scared the crap out of me as a kid. I guess Paramount owns that property. Wes Craven could have at least directed it. But New Line wanted someone who wasn't familiar with the franchise. And the guy that played as Jason wasn't Kane Hodder. It was some guy from Canada. Canadian outsourcing has become more common in Hollywood. Nothing against Canada. It's just the typical US outsourcing to make a quick buck. These are Kane Hodder's remarks about FvJ from imdb.com.
Kane Hodder : Quotes
[when asked his thoughts on Jason's look in "Freddy vs. Jason", in which he did not play Jason] I guess they wanted Jason to look like a skinny little bi*** this time.
[commenting on his exclusion from "Freddy vs. Jason"] I won't be unemployed. But I will resent the hell out of the fact that somebody else is wearing that mask.

Freddy and Jason will never be truly scary again. They're pretty much mascots on cereal boxes. The movie was supposed to be a silly little popcorn movie where nothing mattered because the draw is seeing Freddy and Jason slash the sh*t out of eachother.

Also you're taking points off because it wasn't directed by Wes Craven? Seriously? Guy made like 2 good movies and hasn't sniffed mediocrity since. Of course Kane Hodder is going to be bitter, he didn't get paid! Englund is just as tall if not taller than Hodder. It's way better looking for Jason to tower over Krueger. But whatever. I love that movie and got everything I wanted out of it.

Michael Bay. Is not. Directing. Get that through your head.

True that.

I like the comic too but it reads like some fanboy wankjob at times. (I'm not really a fan of Ash or the idea that he's some awesome badass character. I liked him as a lucky idiot in ED2)

I'm fine with a ninja turtles movie being a big comedic action movie. I mean....if you really want intellectually stimulating entertainment from Ninja Turtles then I would say you're barking up the wrong forest.

Dude, this is an early draft. We don't know how much of this will actually be used.

However if it is used, then by all mean, torches and pitch forks.

Torches and pitchforks to help light and protect the line you'll surely form in front of the local movie theater at midnight right?

Maybe they wanted to see what would happen if the script got found and based on the comments of the people they would make proper changes... one can only dream...

I know he's not directing. But he still has influence on the film.

No I'm not taking off points because Craven wasn't directing. It would have just been nice if someone familiar with the franchise directed it. And Craven Directed 29 films.

I saw those movie trailers when I was a little kid. I had plenty of reason to be scared. Jason's hockey mask terrified me for years even after I saw his face. Even after I saw Nightmare on Elm street as a kid, it wasn't Freddy I was afraid of. It was Jason. I still have nightmares about it occasionally. It has to do with not being able to see Jason's eyes.

Just started reading it. On page 11, and so far, it is already clear that this is a screenplay written for people who don't care by people who don't care. However, this is all moot as if this screenplay is legit, it will probably change a dozen times by the time the film enters production (and probably several more times after that).

But, as a screenplay, it lacks perspective, personality, and decent staging, though it has its moments at times. The dialogue is really bad at times (on par with early draft writing) and seems to enunciate a-typical plot points, just in case you are too dumb to see it for yourself.

I hate how the script just stops, just as it's supposed to pick up the suspense, to have a melodramatic, romance moment with April, that would have probably fit better had it been used in the previous conversation had it not been cut short by stereotypical babes. Plus, April just showing up at the Warehouse is very awkward, and awfully convenient, even if the film were produced by Wicked Pictures.

Freddy vs. Jason was nothing but fan-service. It wasn’t a horror film, nor was it trying to be. Anyone ever seen The Dream Warriors? The main plot point in FVJ came to be in A Nightmare on Elm Street part 3. I would say that's a pretty big nod to the fans. Freddy vs. Jason is pure fan-wank, and that’s why it’s great.

About the script. As others have pointed out, this script is from January 2012. Likely, it was written before the director came on board. This script will change (and probably already has) a hell of a lot of times before the cameras start rolling.

I'll never forget reading a leaked script from the first Transformers film that was from February 2006. As we all know, the actual film came out in July 2007. The script I read was quite different to the finished film. Yes, the main plot and characters were pretty much the same, but there were quite a few notable differences between the two.

Spitfire sent me the script yesterday complete with one of his classic rants. I am on page 20 something.

My first thought on Michael Bay was "Great... TMNT, now with more explosions"

I geniunely subscribe to the notion that if this script has any validity it will be reworked espcially now that it has been leaked

I think it was going to be reworked anyway. Screenplays usually go through many changes before it gets to what you see in the final film. And for big budget tentpole flicks, they tend to go through many screenwriters and script doctors, most of which go uncredited. Dialogue will removed/smoothed out, possibly by an uncredited scriptwriter, hired specifically to spiff up the dialogue some more. And, things will most likely be made up on the spot and during storyboarding and "pre-viz."

It's ideal for most of the kinks to be ironed out before the film hits production, hopefully this is what Paramount is drying to do. I know the domestic failure of Universal's Battleship scared the studio into taking a second look at GI Joe 2. So hopefully, studios are starting to realize that you can't just rip-off Transformers and expect people to show up. Even I thought Battleship would make decent money and I didn't even want to see it.

Screenwriting in Hollywood is a bit of a joke nowadays, anyway. It's not that writers don't try, it's that independent writers (even some who write fan screenplays) try harder to make their scripts coherent and final, whereas, in Hollywood, on high profile projects, it'll probably change. They say never to blame the writer more than the director, and that is true. If this movie is a stinker, it's probably because the director doesn't know how to take a generic screenplay and make it into something better than just a "made on an assembly line" product.

LOL...so is anyone interested in reading the script?

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B22Z...hUNGRacWs/edit

There you go. Let me give you some highlights.

-The turtles are indeed aliens from Dimension X, part of a race of "Turtle Warriors" left on Earth and raised by their adopted father Splinter (who is also an alien) to one day fulfill a prophecy and defeat Krang
-April is an 18 year old intern at CBS, and everything in the script suggests that Megan Fox could have played this in her sleep
-Casey is the main character
-The Foot are a secret government army, not ninjas
-Shredder is now 'Colonel Schrader', a humanoid alien from Dimension X who can grow sharp blades all over his body
-The movie ends with the four turtles living at different corners of the globe, each guarding a magic orb that keeps Dimension X and Earth from merging together
-Theres tons of swearing, with the script twice using the term "eye****ing"
