Supposedly Someone Who Has Read The Script Had This To Say About It

Ugh. I wouldn't be shocked if this is true. I doubt it, but I wouldn't be shocked. But, on the off change it is true, why the hell do the turtles have to be aliens? Couldn't they just bring back some other Alien race? Why not some new version of the Neutrinos? Or the Utroms?

If it’s true, it’s worth noting that this is obviously from an earlier draft. We know that they’ve supposedly done work on the script since. Still, it does seem that they’re going “all out” with this one. Its Star Wars meets Ninja Turtles.
It’s interesting that he says “until the revelation” which means that the alien aspect is kept as a secret from the audience and probably the other human characters (Casey and April) for quite a duration of the script. I’m guessing that the film starts with them on Earth, acting as their usual selves, and then we’re told later on what exactly their origins are as a sort of "twist". Just some thoughts. |

The only way the turtles could possibly be aliens would be if they were from an alternate reality. And that would require a very open-minded and patient audience.
The film dropped "teenage" and "mutant" and changed to "Ninja Turtles" and has the turtles as aliens. Not only is that non-canonical but it's also a divorce from the TMNT franchise in my opinion. I guess when they remake ET, ET is going to be human. |

I wouldn't go see this movie even if it had the lovely and talented Candace Bailey cast as April, though she'd probably have the good sense not to do this interpretation anyway!

Doubt this one.
And honestly, in my opinion, I really don't think Krang, Bebop or Rocksteady will be in the movie. Could be wrong, but I honestly don't see them making it to big screen.

Sounds retarded. Alien Shredder has been done already in the 4kids series...we're not going to have TWO alien brains in the same movie.

Meh. I predict 95% of this IS true (probably more like 100%), based on how these movies usually turn out. And y'know what? I still think it just might be good, decent, or even great. Won't know until we see it, but nothing in that sounds like a deal-killer, and it's literally nothing we haven't seen before in other interpretations...
...except the big one. Turtles from Dimension X, huh? I'll live with it. Either they want to keep the origin story nice and short and simple by having all the main characters come from the same place, while playing up the sci-fi angles to sell more toys (VERY likely), OR this is one of those "Everything you thought you knew is wrong" kinda things they do now and then in fiction to freshen up and expand the mythology (ALSO very likely). It's not blasphemy. "Blasphemy" was that God-awful "April was a drawing" story. If that garbage is canon, then the TMNT can be from Dimension X. Maybe the stuff about the mutagen was a lie, or a half-truth for all we know. This stuff's fake, man, get over it. "Card Subject To Change" and all that. Like it or not, Nostradamus predicts that the Turtles movie is going to be 95-99% of what's in that description, and it's what I've said they were gonna do since they announced the movie. It can still be really good, and probably will be at least decent. People aren't being fair. If it sucks I will be the FIRST one to say so, but nothing I've heard so far makes me think it will suck, except for the Mirage hardcores who are guaranteed to hate it, and they're a bunch'a Gloomy Gusses anyways. Crying and boycotting won't help you, it just means they'll never make another Turtles movie. Your loss. Don't go see it, I hate waiting in line for tickets and popcorn anyways. |

C'mon son. C'mon.
In all seriousness though, I'd give that a shot. Who cares? If the movie is gonna be an alternate thing, let them try something new. Not big on the whole army of alien turtles, but that plot with just the four of them being the last of their kind or whatever would be something I'd humor. |

That sounds like the kind of "creative" re-imagining a Hollywood producer would come up with. "Derp aliens are easier to swallow then mutants. The general public can't accept mutants. The X-men films weren't popular or anything!"
Honestly though at this point I really don't give a crap anymore. They want to make money so they'll do whatever they think will make them money. I'm never getting my Mirage accurate movie. I'm never getting full body suits again. I'm never getting a movie without lots of silly crap like pizza eating and burping. It's a new world. The day will come when someone can pull the turtles out of whatever they are viewed as and do them a way I want to see but that day is long off. By the time it happens I might not even care anymore. |

Or maybe you'll be the guy to make it.
Think about it, even if you or someone else did a so-called "fan-film", put it on YouTube, and millions more people saw it than would in a theatre, and it wasn't big budget but it WAS Mirage accurate, AND a labor of love, and people who LOVED Mirage to pieces thought it was perfect and terrific... would that be a bad thing? I think it'd be a GREAT thing, honestly. Because Hollywood will never do it, and I want to see someone take their shot, this is America baby! In the modern age, so called "independent" cinema is on fire! Does it need a Hollywood stamp on it, a Hollywood budget, and a theater release to be validated? I say no. Some people say internet fan films are stupid, childish wastes of time. I say *sometimes*, but it's ALSO talented, creative people giving the finger to The System and doing the stuff THEY want to see, and God Bless 'Em. I mean yeah, it'd cost a bit of money but hey, "labor of love" and all that. For as many people hate on Hollywood's take on TMNT, you'd think someone would have the gumption to make their Mirage TMNT film. God knows there's enough homemade Batmans to fill a zoo. |

This is what I think could happen. The film will start with the Turtles and Splinter already on Earth. In fact, the Turtles have probably been here since they were either babies or very young. So, basically, they grew up in New York, developed the accents, developed a taste for pizza, learnt to be ninjas, etc. Pretty much, they grew up immersed in human culture. Basically, when we first meet them, they’re the characters we’ve all come to know, including Splinter. However, later on in the film, we learn their true origins and whatnot. Basically, I think it will be a fairly “faithful” adaptation, but with a different “twist” to their origins. I think this is what the director and Michael Bay have been alluding to. Everything will "look" and “feel” the same, but it will be different.

Having the Turtles go from mutants to aliens sort of reminds of that director's proposed film for Mortal Kombat where he took some of the characters and completely changed them, making them more grounded in "reality". I hate it. Don't fix it if there's no problems.
But considering all the backlash that's come from the Turtles being from an alien race, I wouldn't be surprised if the new script eliminates that detail.

"Turtles from Dimension X" sounds sillier than the Turtleoids from another planet in our home dimension! I can understand why it was such a lame idea, and while I don't mind warrior turtles like the Turtleoids from another dimension, it just is wrong for the Turtles not to originate from a glass bowl or in a body of water or in the wild on land. I sort of like the idea that if revised correctly this could perhaps be the movie version of "Planet of the Turtleoids". Also since Dimension X is coming to Nick, there is a possibility that this movie could still be canon with the Nick cartoon, though that seems unlikely at this point.

I just don't understand why Viacom/Nick would allow them to make such drastic changes to the characters.
They know good and well kids who watch the new cartoon will go see the movie next year, and to see the Turtles being aliens makes no sense. |

I’ve come in contact with someone on IMDB who does have the script. I’m going to ask them a few questions.
