I thought it was a rather mediocre episodes with some bits of background/story sprinkled accross. And another weak Baxter episode, really wish he were different in this series.

The show is supposed to have somewhat of an influence from anime.

I thought the first Baxter episode was fairly average but the Mouser episode and this one were great.

Not sure what you guys expect them to do with Baxter. He can either be a cowering lackey like he was in the original toon before he was mutated, or he can be arrogant and get his limbs chomped off like in 4kids.

Baxter's personality here is somewhat closer to the original toons but with a bit more backbone to strike out on his own.

I like that too. I always liked a show/comic like Batman or Spider-Man where you never know what villain is gonna pop up next... and not be a show where the heroes have this one main villain and have to face said villain every comic/issue. One thing that bugged me about the 90's Spider-Man cartoon was that Kingpin was in almost every episode and almost always behind everything. I know he kinda is like that in the comics, but in the comcs I bought, Spidey was fighting someone new every time, and they had nothing to do with Kingpin.

The scenes between April and Splinter are really great.....

I think giving us a bit of character development on the 'bad guys' was wonderful. Even with Raph kind of identifying with Xever. I loved getting to see how he grew into becoming a criminal. Not just, yeah, I'm bad and I love it and have no layers to my personality. Could they be setting up more for Karai's character in this sense? I wonder what's to become of Baxter now that he turned on his associates! What will Shredder do to him, especially since he failed so miserably? It can't be good.

Can't wait for more!

Not so bad weapon of choice for April (part of me wanted her to keep the yoyo, lol but of course that's highly unconventional) hope she uses two fans.

My favorite line in the whole episode was Mikey going someting like "Jerk, Turtle, Jerk, Jerk, Turtle... No wait... too many jerks..."

Im agree both comments!! just adding a few things....

It will be awesome to see Karai vs. April, katana against fans!

I voted at poll for DOOM!!! but also I think my prefer was: "someting like "Jerk, Turtle, Jerk, Jerk, Turtle... No wait... too many jerks..."

Did anyone else remeber a bit about horror/sci-fi movies like "Cube" and a Stephen King movie with the espheres with blades at laberinth!??? (dont remember title now! )

For me the highlight of this EP was the interaction between fishface and Raph.

I laughed out loud when Leo yelled "BALLS!" (...of doom)

Very enjoyable episode. I loved the cooperation between the Turtles and Dogpound and Fishface. I wish Mikey and Dogpound interacted more though.

I'll have to say that this Baxter is my least favorite Baxter ever. He does nothing for me. Guess I'm kinda comparing him to Baxter from the 2k3 show. I really liked that Baxter...

hey dudes and dudettes!...I wanted to add that in the motion comic book flashback of xevers life we see an item in a shops window when he was a little boy and the prize tag starts with an R, that is the short version for 'reais' the brazilian currency...so at last I think we have the assuredness that xever truly is a brazilian man/fish mutant...thats where he got his capueira chops from, too....
I love that fact!and i love these comic book scenes, they're one of my highlights whenever they accour....
loved the episode, curious about the next...

I enjoyed this episode quite a bit. My favorite part was the Raph and Fishface cooperation in battle. And at the end, Raph still knowing that Fishface would stab him in the back at any time again. Very cool ending. I also really liked the April and Splinter interactions. Splinter really bonding with her through his sadness from losing his own daughter was interesting. And now April will be sporting a fan as a weapon! I also wonder what will become of Baxter now. Is he just going to go off rogue somewhere now since he'd be punished if he went back to Shredder? That's my guess because Dogpound and Fishface would have something to give him if he showed his face again.

I was at Toys R Us yesterday, and sure enough the TMNT shelves had been picked clean of Fishface figures after this EP.

I agree with you, the black and white was to disorent the turtles (and badguys) in the maze of DOOM!

I totally thought of the Cube movies when watching this episode.

The Stephen King movie you're thinking of is The Langoliers, I think (featuring the great thespian, Bronson Pinchot). The spheres reminded me of the sentinels from the Phantasm movies, too.

I hope we get to see some Chris Bradford backstory like we got for Xever here. Maybe Bradford regretting that he can't go back to his human life or something.

Awesome episode! I loved every second of it! One thing that kinda bugged me though was how April apparantly has never seen that photo of Splinter as a human with his wife and daughter up until now, even though he was obviously looking at it in the Rat King episode. Either "I, Monster" was meant to take place after this or there's been a major lack of communication in the writers' room.

That doesn't make a lick of sense. If she'd seen it before, shouldn't see realized that it was Hamato Yoshi, Teng Shen and Miwa right off the bat? I mean come on she's been friends with Splinter and the Turtles for some time now. You'd think they told her as much as they could about their backstory.

idk I have friends and I've never asked them about their pictures XD

and Splinter is a rat...so maybe she didn't know who it was...she could have thought.."Friends?....Uncle.......Dad..." XD

Considering April is standing right there when Splinter holds the photo and says "Everything I had is gone - my wife, my daughter, my clan, even my humanity." in I, Monster, it is really odd. She'd have to be pretty dense to somehow miss that - or just have a really bad memory, I guess.

Honestly I'd forgotten she'd been there for that scene. Originally her not knowing who was in the photo seemed odd to me, but now it just feels downright silly! Especially since the same writer is credited for both episodes. o_O
