I'm betting on Karai being Venus. Can definitely see her being mutated, and out of everything to mutate into a turtle is probably the most likely. And just like Venus, she's technically their sister.

I'm surprisingly okay with this, as long as it doesn't last.

Tiger Claw

..Think I figured out my next tattoo idea. Obviously I'd have someone draw it better, haha , but this was mad fun to work on and try to learn to paint with water colors better

My head canon wants to believe Tiger Claw still got his butt kicked by the 80s turtles and then booted into a dimensional portal.

That's a good headcanon.

This was an amazing episode. Mikey managed to get his chance to show he's actually competent. Hell, wasn't it him who came up with the idea to lead Tiger Claw into a meatlocker. Also Casey managed to strut his stuff.
Always hoped Chris Yost would write for this series since I really enjoyed the episodes he wrote for the 2k3 series and probably my favourite writer for Marvel Comics.

With him as head writer I'll be looking even more forward to season 3.

Oops! I thought was just bad grammar by NoName999, no offense I encounter it quite often on the internet. My bad everyone!
So I just got caught up in it.

Still I do hope he becomes the head writer so we can get a better focus on the narrative.

I think Tiger Claw took Karai back to Shredder's lair so they both can prepare a trap for Splinter.
If Tiger killed Karai and the Turtles, then Splinter could pick off both him and Splinter at a moment of his choosing.

I don't know if he's just messing around as he and Ciro like to do that a lot or that's really how they consider the story to go.
If so I have to wonder what season those turtles are from (looks like early on season 1).
If he did kill them that entire old toon world would go crazy and they'd never stop Shredder & Krang.
It's really crazy to think about.

I liked the episode a lot. I was extremely happy to see that Chris Yost was writing the episode because X-23 is my favorite X-Men character and he used to write some really awesome stories that helped mold her in to what she is. Also any time I get to see Murakami I am happy. I hated that he told where April and Casey were at but I guess I can understand that he was afraid. Casey had some great lines and I thought the fight scene with Tiger Claw was incredibly intense. I like the fact that he's a genuine threat to the Turtles. I felt really sympathetic for Mikey when he got hurt and having Raph hold him was a nice touch to show that no matter what they are still brothers.

You really bloody got to admire how wise Splinter is in this one!

I mean, when Karai came to him, and stood there right in front of him, he could have reacted a million ways.

And what does he do?

he doesn't try to fend of himself or take owner ship of her at all, he very simply, shows her what-ever items he got to show her the truth, and then let her arrive at her own conclusions.

never ever does he say. "You must." or. "You should be." or. "you should do this." or "You must know know this." or. "This is who you really are."

He respects her as her own person! He lets her be her own person and even advices her to make up her own mind about herself.
He leave it all... to her.

Not for one second trying to tell her what to do, or take ownership of her, or turn her into some-thing she isn't, he just lets her be, accepts her exactly for who she in this situation right now, and gives her that room to make up her own mind about matters, arrive at her own conclusions and act on her own as her own person.

Not Miwa, not Karai, her own person. he even respects her enough to not adress her as "Miwa." he does that ones when he sees her at first, probably because he is so shocked, but when he talks to her directly, he calls her Karai, because he acknowledges that's her name, nothing else.

And beforehand he also clearly stated.
"Maybe she'll come to me, maybe she wont."
Clearly indicating, he is never going to force her, he is going to let her make her own choices, and learn her own lessons, as her own person, not merely his daughter.

Man, this is why Splinter is wise... so wise.

And if she returns, there is no doubt that Splinter will quietly accept her and welcome her as her own person.

Which, Raph i'm sorry bud, but I know not even you would go against Splinters wishes in these matters.
I can see why you would be suspeciouse but.. you're out voted by far.

Nice to see the plot go forward for Karai. I think her realising the father situtation was well written. And that last fight scene, like many has stated, was awesome. More fights like this and i will be one happy tmnt fan!
After pizzaface I was ready to call it quits, and accept that this is how every writer sees Mikey. Dump idiot, comical relief and nothing more. While every Mikey fan knows that's not the case... So I was really happy to see that maybe all hope is not lost. And the writers let him have these moments that are not based on him being an idiot, even if it was just a little.

I'm assuming he is joking considering that the Nick series has so many influences from the OT (almost a derivation of the OT at times), but it's not like other TMNT versions before haven't thrown the OT version under the bus to superficially elevate their own "badass" reputation. **cough** Turtles Forever **cough**

If it should really be and is 'canon' that Tigerclaw killed them off, then that is an incredibly ballsy thing for them to do and would make Nick have some hardcore Mirage elements for sure. Plus it would be their way of showing that this show isn't going to be dependent on the OT, and killing the OT Turtles off is a way to illustrate that.

Also if it's Season 1, then Krang and Shredder don't have all of the later season technology they would have, making them less of a threat then if it was later in the timeline. Plus early in the OT they really don't have much of a reason to work together besides stuff over the Turtles, and without them I don't think Shredder would tolerate Krang much and would likely kill Krang first chance he gets (since he's now a potential and extremely dangerous rival threat.) Once that happens Splinter would kill Shredder, since that would be the only way to stop him.

How did you ask him? Was it on Twitter or Facebook, or through email?

Yeah, that had to have been a joke. That'd be a pretty lousy way to kill off characters with about 200 TV appearances. (And I feel like there's no way they'd close the door on potential future appearances/cameos.)

I'm not opposed to seeing them again, but that's not a well they should go to that often - a little nostalgia goes a long way, and this show needs to keep standing on its own strengths.

But after the "crossover" episode was announced some time ago, I was happy to see them show so much restraint with only a few brief cameos in a couple of episodes. I think they know what they're doing.

That said, I'd be pretty happy to see a brief '03 Turtles cameo at some point...

Tiger Claw couldn't kill the turtles from that dimension because that isn't the way that dimension works. Now if he took them out of that dimension then it would be possible.
