Yea Freaks is messed up.

I'm still kinda hoping they reveal that April's mom is a Neutrino. It would explain a lot of her origin.
I was hoping for that too, but after this episode it seems unlikely. =/

Did anyone get a Gravity Falls vibe when the experiment destroyed the laptop. Speaking of Gravity Falls, I expected that thing to tell April that she will meet a fate worse than she could imagine.

I also find it strange that The Kraang froze the experiment because they deemed it too dangerous.

I wonder why if the Kraang felt the experiment was that dangerous, they didn't just destroy it outright?

Thumbs up

Wow, krang/donatello was really creepy! Great animation!

And it was really nice to hear the turtles say "Mom".

I wish April's real mom was a Neutrino but I am starting to doubt they even exist in this series.

Yup, though it's kinda different when they actually mean it in regard to someone, not just speaking the word about an inanimate object.

Ok, it's bugging me... I can't recall quite what not-actually-mom said to Mikey in the woods - something about making mom angry? - when she pulled the knife. Was that from Mommy Dearest or something like that? That has got to be from something but having a hard time placing it.

Saw this last night, and...with each passing second, my eyes grew wider. Which is why I absolutely loved it. Favorite part was when the heads of Leo, Donnie, and Mikey stuck out of the thing's neck and started moaning. Seriously, what the hell was I watching? I'm liking that the season's been sticking to a horror theme thus far.

Those eyes man. Nightmares.
Agreed. Scary sh!t right there. In Fungus Humungous, the same thing sort of happened, but this time, the shadows on his face made it LOADS worse.

I can't speak for April's mom, since it was explained she was experimented on before April was born. But maybe April might be a neutrino because of the experimentation done on her family.

What I found strange was that we see Mrs. O'Neil as a little girl. So they are essentially saying that farm house is the house that belonged to her family.

But generally when marriage happens the wife takes the husband's sirname. There are however plausible reasons for this.

1. O'Neil I don't know how common that name is, but it could be essentially having someone with the name of Smith marrying someone named Smith.

2. Kirby could have chosen to take his wife's family name.

3. Kirby and Mrs. O'Neil could be very distant relations, such as Franklin Roosevelt and Elinor Roosevelt were 5th cousins when they married.

4. Kirby may in fact may not be April's father. Maybe part of the experimentation was implanting the embryo that would become April in Mrs. O'Neil and Kirby is more of a brother or close male relative of Mrs. O'Neil.

this ep was a vast improvement over last week. hope to see if Renae Jacobs comes back as the real April's mom at some point, the real Irma is hiding somewhere, hope to see Karai get turned back to normal at some point as well. (man these ladies can't catch a break)
Bring on the Punk Frogs!
Battletoads? *hums the Battletoads theme song to himself*
with all the "references" the TMNT show has been doing i don't see why not.

Well, I know that in the Regan Reilly series by Carol Higgins Clark, Regan marries a man named Jack Reilly who isn't related to her at all. Could be that this is what happens here as well. And I thought that little girl was someone else because she had red hair and April's mom is blonde. I'll have to watch the ep again tomorrow and see if I'm right.

This ep had so many references. I kept hearing lines and going, "Wait, where have I heard that before?" That "making mommy angry" line as well.

Maybe it was Mommy Dearest. It'd fit, wouldn't it? I haven't seen that movie in years.

So, I heard a lot of people were scared by it..really? I didn't feel scared, it was a great horror-action! I was grinning most of the time.

First of all, I wasn't reading the comments here so far, I only write my thoughts about this episode down.
(I put it in spoilers, so my post isn't so huge)
Spoiler:
What I didn't like:

- They didn't trust their own brother? They 'sided' with a person they just met and don't know anything about? Sure, they thought it was her(Aprils) mother and Mikey tends to,well, do and say stupid things..but they could at least have given it a thought. Aprils 'mother' was still a complete stranger to them..Guess I just felt a bit sorry for him..(I do admit, that scene is amusing to a point though.)

- Aprils 'superpowers'. I start to feel more and more 'meh' to them. They come in handy, yes, but feel also a bit..exaggerated?!..perhaps it's just me..
Same with "Oh look! It's xyz-..oh no wait..it isn't...just another alien-thing,my bad."

What I liked:

+ the Turtles and house-cleaning.

+ Mikey and ICK scene! Loved it! The little guy was awesome in this episode again.

+ The scene where Raph fights with 'alien-Leo'. His evil-psychotic smile..just great xD But give that poor guy a rest..still hurt and got beaten up again..

+ Back to Raphael...I liked him a lot in this episode too. Good to see him kicking..stuff again.

+ The ending of the episode was so sweet and touching.

Personal opinion, I don't take guarantee that you'll agree with it. ;D

All in all, a great episode. Looking forward to see the punk-frogs.

Well, I can't watch these with my almost 5 year old daughter anymore the horror themes are genuinely scary for her. Just a bit too much for her, I DON'T want her to have nightmares. So, gonna have to go the way of 4kids first 5 seasons and watch them by myself again until they get a bit more kid friendly.

They really seem to be going down the horror road at the moment , they've effectively replaced the mutant of the week theme with the horror homage of the week now. Seriously, I hope not 'every episode' at the farmhouse is horror related and there are some normalish episodes there. Next week looks like it could be non horrorish but with Dream Beavers around the corner which is pretty much Freddy Kruger voiced by the man himself Robert Englund and god knows what ever horror related mutants are there seems like might have to watch most of them by myself for a while.

I also agree with most posters here we need to see a non turtle episode of what's happening in New York or at least give them half an episode inter-cutting with some down time type story at the farmhouse.

I hate that (well not really hate) when you can feel that it's familiar but no idea from what. lol

That's another one, I swear that expression was similar to something else I've seen. Arg! Likewise some bit of animation from the Donnie alien...

I really hope Karai and Leo don't get together it'd just ruin his duties as a ninja.

How? I mean, he's a ninja, she's a ninja....

Not that I'm 99% sure it will happen, but still.

I don't know what it is but I haven't really liked any of the episodes of season 3 thus far.

It's not terrible obviously but it's all so blah to me right now. I get that it's something different and 'scary' but I don't find it interesting at all. The most fun I've had in this season was hearing Jesse Ventura guest star.

Same.

Now I'm wishing for this Northampton arc to be over as soon as possible.
