I honestly don't understand that. Granted, I'm a big fan of the 2003 cartoon and still consider that the best of the 3 cartoons. But even taking that out of the equation, I still don't get that. But hey, different strokes for different folks.

Well 2k3 April's default outfit isn't the one you showed.

At least Nick April has the same hair color and wears yellow as her default outfit. It makes her a bit more recognizable than whoever that random woman in purple was supposed to be.

All his biggest inspirations/aesthetics are late 70's/early 80's, I imagine that's where it came from.

I'm surprised by how "ok" I am with black April. That fan art still felt like April to me. I'm not a big fan of race swapping characters either. I mean to me the early issues April could've easily been black but she wasn't made Black so to me that was the end of it. I always saw April as blonde but I was ok with redhead April since the brownish/dirty blonde she had in the OT can easily be seen as reddish. Still I hope all future April's are red heads which is basically not very well represented in media either.

We could have more beautiful sistas 'course; but, make them their own people. If you want to bench April for a bit and have a new woman be front and center, that's even better.

Somebody like Angela Bassett, alpha female, looking like she did in Stella.

No idea if she's a godo actress or not, but she couldn't have done worse than Megan Fox.

I'm surprised they didn't go for Scarlett Johansson. Dye her hair red like in that Marvel movie she was in recently and all's set.
