You outright SAID it when you said you'd rather them use a different character than make Casey black, as if it was SO AWFUL to make a white guy black, which, by the way, it isn't. If they created a new character that took Casey's place but wasn't white, people would just call the new character a poor man's Casey. Just look at Nick Fury. Making him black didn't take away from his appeal at all. Nick Fury's ****ing awesome.

Nick Fury is black in the Ultimate comics... And modeled after Samuel L Jackson... So he doesn't really count. Movie Nick is black cause comics Nick is black.

I agree with whoever wants Casey to be the same. We don't need some black dude pretending to be Casey Jones. We also don't need 'random black dude shoved in there for the sake of putting a black dude in there'.

And also wtf with all this 'put black people into everything' jazz? I doubt they give two ***** wether or not Casey, Electro or Johnny Storm were white or black. If storm was casted by a white girl... There's be hell to pay... And the white comic book fans would be just as pissed as the black fans.

I just don't understand this sudden rash of race changing. I'm Mecican and I don't give a **** if the Avengers have a Mexican member and I won't raise a petition for April to be Latina. Can't someone just be a fan if a comic and cartoon and expect the big epic movie version to be similar enough?

Avengers and their related movies did it just fine. Why can't anyone else seem to get it?

If Casey's race was changed, he would still be Casey Jones, he wouldn't be a black guy pretending to be Casey Jones. He would literally be the same character.

It wouldn't be a random black dude. It'd be Casey Jones. An important part of the TMNT story. And it wouldn't be for the sake of putting a black dude in there -- it'd be for the sake of making sure non-white viewers feel included.

It's cool that you don't care about representation. No, really. But other people do, and that wish should be respected. It really isn't changing much because there are lots of white characters, but so few non-white ones, you know?

I never said a character being black is bad. I said I would rather them use an existing character than change the race of a character. I don't want any characters race changed. I don't want a white Saki, white Stockman, or white Yoshi. Also what's wrong with Carter? I understand he's not a popular character, but he could be reinvented as a good character. Look at Secret of the Ooze, Keno worked fine as a character and he wasn't just an Asian Casey. I don't see a reason to make a character black when we have a perfectly good black character who could fill his role. You don't want more more black characters, you want white characters to be replaced with black versions of themselves. You want less white characters, I want more black characters that have unique history's.

As I said in a diffrent thread; Since we're borrowing so much from IDW for the turtles movies, let's do something radically diffrent! Instead of bringing in Casey Jones for the 1,000th time as the Turtles vigilante friend, why not take a page from IDW and bring Angel Bridge in as the vigilante hero Nobody? I think it might add a new dyanamic to the fights, and a new dynamic to the turtles's friendship with thier vigilante ally.

It'd add a heck of a lot more diversity to the movies, and not 'change' Casey Jones.

I personally do not want Casey to be black just for the sake of it. If the perfect actor for Casey turns out to be black, then go for it (like they did with Kingpin in the Daredevil movie) but doing it because they feel the need to ad diversity is what I don't want.

My pick for Casey is Aaron Paul. I think his voice is perfect for the character.

Also, I think that people who are actively looking for race representation are the racist. I'm not white and I don't care about race representation. I just want the comic/cartoon translated into film. If the comics are all white characters, blame the comic creators, not the filmakers that are adapting the comics.
