It's good to know they will be sold on their website as well since that opens up so many possibilities for a line like this!
very cool!

Yeah, I thought August was already a 'date' that we knew. I was expecting to read an actual date. But I know you're just looking out for fellow 'Dromers, so it's okay. Has there been a firm release date released yet? I know the coloring books come out on August 7th, according to my order from Barnes & Noble.

Yes, we've known about it for a while now.

Not that I've seen, and honestly, I don't expect there will be one. If this was a movie tie-in line, than yes there would be a street date. This is a show's toy-line, so I doubt we'll get anything more specific than August.

Just stating a fact. If I came off as a jerk, I apologize. That was not my intention.

I'm not sure it's been reported here yet, but yesterday I received an email from Big Bad Toy Store stating that my preorder for the Turtle Lair playset had been canceled. The email said that the reason for this is that the Playset will now be a retailer exclusive. Though it didn't say what store will carry it.

Again if this had been reported already just ignore this.

That's...odd. Given the price of the lair, it wouldn't surprise me if it was a TRU exclusive (they're also getting those big storage shell figures). There was very little chance that I would get the lair set anyways, so it being a store exclusive doesn't really bother me. Though it does make me wonder about any future playsets that Playmates might make...

Maybe, but Wal-mart wasn't so thrilled with the TMNT back in '07 or so. Dunno if they'd hop back into the game for an exclusive right away.

I wondered why Big Bad Toy Store took the Lair off for pre-order. I was thinking maybe they had just sold all they were going to get at this point. It will be interesting to see who winds up with the exclusive.

I bet that lair gets a price cut at somepoint. It's WAY too expensive for what it is. I wouldn't pay over $50 for it.

I'm going to bet on it being Toys R Us as they seem the be the most interested in selling TMNT.

Yup, I did that too. Hence my 36 count vs your 32.

They'll be here SOON, people!

It's the Turtles, you can bet Toys R Us and Wal-Mart, AND Target will carry them. They all carried the 25th line. Why wouldn't they carry the biggest line coming since the 87 show? The alien comment by Bay, intentional or not, totally brought TMNT back into the pop culture limelight.

That they will be. The Classics will definitely be my main focus, but I'll still definitely get the new show's stuff. Only question is, which turtle should I get first? (no way I'll be able to get all four in one trip).

I'm definitely not worried about non-TRU retailers carrying the line. TMNT still has a certain amount of pull, even these days. However, I'm not at all surprised that most retailers wouldn't want to carry the rather large and expensive lair playset. The Ninja Turtles are still popular, but I don't think they have the pull Star Wars commands (hopefully that'll change in the coming years).
