So in other words it sounds like just a place but since a gay person or two were there they're trying to paint it as a hate crime?

Stop being obtuse. If you read more than 5 minutes on the subject you'd know it's pretty much the only place in the entire town that isn't loudly and openly hostile towards gay people. Which is exactly why those people go there and in turn exactly why they were targeted.

"It might not be an anti-gay hate crime!" except for the fact that it absolutely was. Again, I am forced to beg you people to stop being obtuse, disingenuous, and/or flat-out ignorant.

Was it targeted for that exactly reason... dunno. Haven't personally heard that this guy had writings or posts or rants or online about against gay people, though he certainly comes from people who sound like they're openly anti-gay.

The place is obviously geared toward the gay (etc) community, and they were supposedly having a drag show that night, but sounds like a place straight people felt comfortable also going... at least that one family and friend group who lost someone.

If it was target on purpose, and not just because it was a place with lots of people, then yeah, that would make it a hate crime. And what would be wrong with even acknowledging that if that is all on that one guy. Not sure why people get their back up over something some random criminal did being labeled a hate crime as if that affects them personally.

Definitely the reason I'm not buying the "non-binary" claim. If he didn't have any vendetta against specific people actually in that building and he was part of the LGBTQ+ community, then why on Earth would you try to harm the one business, and patrons in the place, that exists with people like you in mind. That entirely conflicts with that claim.

Would be like loving TMNT comics, but then torching the publisher's print shop.

This guy sounds too stupid to be making that stuff up. If I had to speculate -- and I could be way wrong -- it's a bit like that other gay club shootout a few years ago, but different. Dude became "in the community" but then felt super guilty/resentful and lashed out at "the community." Maybe his wacky father or criminal mother's words started to haunt him, who knows. This thing doesn't suit any agenda, really, and this seems to be really pissing people off.

He was known to police. Arrested a year ago for felony menacing and first degree kidnapping but the DA decided not to pursuit charges.

Well we now know that this Club Q was hosting all ages drag shows which is generally frowned upon by the public. Could be some relation there as to a motive for the shooter, but now he just happens to be non-binary, so isn’t he a part of the community? By their own logic self identify is real. How will we ever know if this was a hate crime or not? The shooter appeared to be doped up on pharmaceuticals.

One transwoman call bs on the shooter being non-binary. But what if someone told him that he’s a man, imagine the outrage. Sounds like trans privilege?

It seems there’s an agenda going here, now more than ever we’re seeing more and more virtue signaling for transgenders and this tragedy being used to condemn anyone who isn’t on board with the transgender agenda after this mass shootings. Companies going woke, not caring. National Hockey League has been trans virtue signaling alot lately. I'm legit confused. Why do people say "trans women are women?" Does that mean trans women should be treated like women? I thought trans women were just men who identify as women? So confusing…

Possible, lashing out at "those people" instead of accepting it or taking responsibility. Not far off from the incels who do similar, resisting responsibility for their own negative behavior and lash out at others instead.

On the other hand, if he already has a lawyer, it could have been their idea.

The only problem with this is, if the shooter really is non-binary, then this story will disappear and be swept under the rug. It'll become another case of 'nothing to see here, folks' and that's what's really ****ed up.

Kinda like that non-white person that drive a vehicle into City Hall. The media was pretty much ready to call in J6 II Boogaloo but whoops, the driver wasn't white. Nothing to see here folks.

Either way, innocent people died for nothing. That's the real tragedy here.
