Rogue Squadron existed before Luke showed up. It will likely be before ANH.

I remember playing the Rogue Squadron games. Though the movie won't be based on those. But i think its cool that were getting a Star Wars movie on the x-wing pilots. And we can expect some epic space battles.

When these two games came out, I remember many game reviewers declaring them among the best-looking console games ever seen up to that point:

If this movie ever gets made, kinda makes you wonder what the tie-in games might be titled, since "Rogue Squadron" is already an established thing.

Yeah, Rogue Squadron was hot **** in the mid/late 90s, it got forgotten because of the prequels and it never recovered popularity. Rogue Leader on the gamecube was likely the last time Rogue Squadron was really relevant.

I mean... if it were me, I'd set it after Episode IX and somehow try and salvage the sequel trilogy era with it. Denis Lawson back as Wedge in a prominent part, maybe as a General who has to reluctantly get back in the cockpit in a vital mission.

Scheduling conflicts = this movie isn't happening.

There was a rumor a few days ago that this was getting pushed from its 2023 release date and an Old Republic movie was taking its place. Guess we'll see if both parts of that rumor are true.

I just can't believe that after the WW84 disaster they're actually gonna let Jenkins do another terrible Wonder Woman movie, since that's most likely what's going to have her be "too busy" for this one.

She must have pictures of someone important with a naked kid, that's all I can figure.

yikes, imagine if the sequel trilogy hadn't failed we would've gotten a new star wars movie every year at the minimum (as I think han solo not releasing in december was a way to get people used to more than one star wars film a year a la marvel). I think Obi Wan/Boba Fett etc which were indeed rumored to be movies got changed to tv shows for new content for Disney + when they saw things weren't going well.

Not sure about an Obi-Wan movie but the Boba Fett movie was not a rumor, it was really happening and would have followed Solo. It had a production office and everything with Josh Trank brought on as director.
