1st Movie Filming Locations

Okay, I need some help. I'm off to New York in 27 days (whoo hoo!) for a week and want to see if I can visit any of the locations used in the first movie. So can anyone help me out and tell me exactly where was used? I know Central Park already but I'm at a loss for the rest. Any replies appreciated.

Sorry but most of the movie was shot on sound stages and sets in willmington north carolina. only a few shots were shot in nyc. all the new york stuff is called second unit. one or two turtle shots at most

Just walk around NYC at night and envision yourself in the movie. Look at storm drains and sewer covers and fantasize that Raph is screaming that Splinter was kidnapped. Pretend you're the pizza delivery man and Mikey is waiting for you to exchange the pizza for $10.

Just use your i-m-a-g-i-n-a-t-i-o-n.

Thanks, Utromx. I figured that would probably be the case, but I thought I could check out the few shots that were genuine outside locations.

Lol yeah just go anywhere in NYC and it'll seem like you're on the set...it's all the same in any downtown city in America anyway

Nothing TMNT related, but I would definatly check out the Ghostbusters firehouse there. I heard the firemen there are friendly and allow you to check out the place. They even have t-shirts with the ghost logo modified for the firehouse number.

Hi. Yeah I was going to do that. I'm also going to go to Dana's apartment building on 55 Central Park West and take some pictures of the exterior. I know it looks really different to how it did in the movie. Shorter and less wide apparently.
