Charles and Danny

Were Charles and or/Danny Pennington from TMNT 1 ever in the comics at any point or were they created especially just for the first movie?

What did/do you think of the characters? I liked the subplot with Danny being a "tearaway" teenager...a lot of kids go through similar stuff and behave the same way, I thought Danny was realistically written as a teen and written very well. His character could've turned out horrible but luckily the writing and acting pulled through.

I like Charles as well. I could feel sorry for the guy. Poor man was under a lot of stress, he felt very human and very real.

The writing and acting really was great in this movie. *sighs*

They must've been good actors, because boy did they piss me off when I watched the movie. You know the acting's good when they stir up emotions within you.

I actually liked Danny! LOL Sorry I am soo for baddies sometimes and I loved how he wanted to be with the Foot but then learned! It's soo true about today's teens. Sometimes they are so frustrated that they do turn to many bad things. I don't think they were in the comics but I really loved the characters though I didn't like Charles

They were in the comic book adation of the movie of coarse, hehe! Sorry, just being silly here. The Penningtons were characters designed for the films. They never appeared in the Mirage series because April was never a news reporter, and they weren't in the Archie series either since it was more based on the original cartoon.

I so agree.

I went through the excact same phase than Danny did (I joined foot etc. lol), so I can really relate to him as a character. Charles was annoying though, but he was as lost as parents sometimes are in a situation like that. That was nice too.

Danny was a dork. Charles was an uptight jerk.

But thanks to Splinter, Danny finally got some morals.

I liked how the cheif, who reminded me of cheuf wiggum from simpsons, was harrising stearns about arpil on his case.

I think charles was to take the place of burne thopsom from the old toon by being april's boss, though charles was not the jameson like character of badmouthing the turtles, being a demanding old man. I thought that charles went through alot of bad times, like with april on cheif stearns and danny stealing. I liked it when he told danny he will be sorry when he gets home from school and then danny gets out of the car and goes to the foot head quarters. HE even fired april and gave her her office. Danny's change of heart was expected. The whole danny and charles subplot was good.

Yeah I really liked the subplot and how it kind of joined the main plot! Very well done
