The preview cover of Decembers TMNT!!??

Those of you who got the new issue of TMNT, after the letters page there's a little pic of the cover of the next issue

The guys are all dressed in superhero costumes??
In fact they look a bit like the way Peter described them for the scrapped Next Mutation movie.
You can't tell which turtle is which but not only are they in costumes they seem to have powers as well, one of them seems to have this melting morphing ability, another has electrical powers and one of them is covered with this mesh armour.
I certainly hope they're not going to be like this permenantly, one of the reasons I love the turtles so much is because they don't have super powers, they rely on their speed and fighting ability instead.
I was able to accept the other superhero's in the comic(just about) but to turn the turtles into superheros, I hate that Idea.
Now I guess I just have to wait until the next issue comes out to see what happens, but that preview pic has me worried.

Seriously, I doubt Laird would change what he's already written and probably drawn just because a few fans don't like it.

It seems a little... odd that he would give the TMNT super powers. But I'm prepared to stick by and see what he has planned. After all, when he put Karai on the cover, we all thought she'd come back to fight the Turtles, and that didn't happen.

Theres some more info i dig up. Or maybe not info, but the "what the heck is going on here?" part could be a sign of hope. I think that's fom Previews. I found it on one online comic shop.

Yeah, that's quoted from Previews. I still believe it'll just be a gag or temporary. I'll send the hate letters after issue #6 comes out and its permanent.

Agreed... It's like the training session Karai held in an eariler epsiode with TMNT look-alikes. These could be something else other than the real TMNT. Or that they are playing a gig for an issue.

dont judge it until your read the issue. who knows what might happen??

personally, i think it would be cool if Laird incoporated the ideas from the scrapped fourth movie proposal, but that's just me....

we'll see.....

I'm still reserving my judgement until I see the content of the book. I'm not looking forward to Super Turtles, and honestly, my faith in Laird has dropped since the Venus incident. We don't have any idea of the circumstances surrounding the cover or the would be acquisition of these new powers. Just "Super-hero Turtles?! What the heck is going on here?!" Doesn't tell us much. Are the powers new mutations? Given by the Utroms? Forced upon them? Part of a new TV show? (Hey, they made Utrom action figures in the comic, I wouldn't put much past them.) One of Mikey's stories?

Maybe they're anti-turtles created to battle the real turtles.

We'll just have to wait and see. Personally I think they've been doing a good job so far. (Okay, other than those pointy ears on Splinter.)

The one in the lower left is Leonardo, the lower right is Raphael, the upper left is MichAELangelo (hehe) and upper right is Donatello.

Super turtles would be against all that TMNT origially was. Originally, it was a parody of Ordinary Super hero comics, But when it came poepular, they changed it on purpose to something original.

So if they would have Permanent Super powers, It would go against all that made TMNT diffrent from other comics.
