Actually, the Shredder storyline was just revisited this year, in Tales of the TMNT #3 & #4.

Technically, the Tales issues took place back, right after the Return to New York arc.

So the "present day" Turtles haven't discussed, or dealt with the Shredder since then, which is something like 13 years ago.

The Watcher asked if he'd been mentioned *by the characters* in the fiction. In other words, has there been any hint that Shredder might return, like in the now, not through flashback stories, or Tales. But a walking-talking Shredder of Today in the regular series.

Right?

Oh, and Watcher, there might be some hope for you:

Leo's been helping Karai and the Foot fend off some weird assassins from another dimension (Where, apparently, Al Gore won the 2000 Presidential election). In the latest issue, one of the assassins was caught, and accused Karai of trying to use a mystical book of some kind, for purposes that she clearly shouldn't be.

Karai tried to deny it to Leo, but her shakey voice betrayed the fact that the assasin scared her. Since everything's very vague at this point, it's very possible she's trying to bring back Saki.

1) Al Gore DID win the presidential election....but we won't get into that here .

2) Yeah, I'm wondering myself if Saki has anything to do with this Foot Clan bizarreness myself. I want to find out but at the rate this series is going it'll take literally 2 years before anything develops .

Yeah, I should've been more clear, the Tales issue does take place right after RtNY. But I think the ending of Worms of Madness clearly shows that Shredder will be back eventually. And it's possible Karai has been trying to bring him back, since that's the only thing I can think of she'd be doing with that book(well, I guess she could be trying to bring her daughter back as well).

I thought the The Worms of maddness saga was like a volume three filler, it's about the same time as Image took place(now there's a hole because it's been disregarded from TMNT Chronology).
