I was waiting for Chris Allan's return since I first heard of the new Tales book, I was very excited to finally have that issue in my hands. I really enjoy Chris's work and I hope that we see a lot more of it in the TMNT Universe in the future.

Yay FOREVER WAR!

Chris Allan is the MAN! He's one of the few TMNT artists who illustrated many future TMNT stories, so I really admire him. ^O^
I'm looking forward his future works.

I remember when he first started Archie and the TMNT looked a little too bloated for my liking. He drew the humans perfectly, but I cringed at the Turtles. Though, as he continued, the TMNT got more slender and more built. It's true if you keep working at the same thing, you'll get better at it! He became so awesome, I started to look for his name under penciler for every Archie issue I picked up. I wish I got to meet him the one year someone said he was at the San Diego Comic Con. I hear he's very shy and hasn't made another appearance since! Drat!

I liked Mitcharoony's cartoony way of drawing the turtles, but when Chris came it changed the whole game. They were much more realistic, I loved the futere shark trilogy and I cant wait for The Forrever War.

You know what's funny? I went to buy Tales of the TMNT #6 at the mall and I couldn't use my Westfield gift card unless I spent more than $5.00. I went to dig through the TMNT bin and found the TMNT Meet Archie, a comic I never picked up before. I decided to get it and the two books came to $5.87! I read both books that night and yeah, Ken Mitchroney's art was very cartoony but rather likable. Chris Allan's art really wowed me in #6! I wondered if he was allowed to draw in pupils when the guys have their masks on. Since this is Mirage, they're not supposed to have pupils, yet, I've seen Jim Lawson draw them in a few times. That's a question I've been meaning to ask Peter Laird.

I think its more for close ups and if their eyes are open as in shock... I am sure I have seen pupils in some of Keven and Peters TMTN books to though.... some where....

Only when their masks are off is when E&L drew in pupils. I never saw them with their masks on. Unless I'm missing it somewhere. If anyone finds at least one book with one panel where you do see their eyes within the mask done by Eastman or Laird, scan it and post it here!

I remember the E&L TMNT having just black dots for eyes when their masks were off.

I'm not sure if they ever had pupils with their masks on when drawn by E&L...It's possible but I can't recall any such moments.

I have to ask, how many "lost" stories of independent books are actually made years later? We are so fortunate that Forever War is coming

Well, that book might not have been viewed as being "independant" as per se, but very few supposedly "scrapped" storylines ever see the light of day. We are a lucky fanbase to have this opportunity given to us, and to these creators. This is a story every fan of TMNT Adventures, and the general TMNT fanbase has been longing for. This is a big one, and when it eventually reaches us, I can only hope that it gives us all the wham-bangs we've been waiting for, and I truly believe that it will.

If Chris or Dean are reading this (and who knows, they might be) I'd like to thank you for everything you've given us fans in the past, and everything you hopefully give us in the future.

Did anyone see Chris' "Ninjara" story that ran in Furrlough? It only ran for 3 issues (and had a cover done by Chris) and then is was discontinued, with a cliff-hanger, no less. Ninjara had broken into a heavily armed facility to steal a seed, and was about to be jumped from behind by (judging by the silouette) a female cat-humanoid)...and her daughter was kidnapped by her employer during this caper, unbeknownst to her. Man, that's just the wrong time to quit working on a series...
