Green Lantern: Rebirth

Anybody reading it? If not, you should. Issue 3 tied up so many loose ends in the GL mythos, I was blown away. Everything from the rings' weakness against yellow to why Hal Jordan started going gray at an early age is explained, and the last page shocked the heck outta me (and comics almost never surprise me anymore).

Anybody else keeping up with it?

So far I'm loving it.

To be honest, I didn't want Hal back. Mostly because he never really left. He worked so well as the Spectre, a characer trying his hardest to redeem himself. And he had a LOT to redeem himself for (universal annihilation, God frowns upon that).

However, if he HAD to come back, this is the absolutel best we could hope for. Only a writer like Geoff Johns could take such a controvesial subject (in comics, anyway) and make it a GOOD story.

Oh and...

*SPOILERS!!!!!*

I like the idea of Parallax being the yellow weakness of the GL rings. Makes perfect sense, having been imprisoned in the Central Battery since day 1 and all. And then when Hal busted up the Central Battery, well...

And that's another thing I like about this series. It's written SO well you'd think that this was all planned from the very beginning. Johns is amazing.

Anyway, the GLs going batsh*t crazy should prove to be an interesting story (John Stewart OWNED Superman!). Good to see Guy back as a GL, never dug that whole Warrior-thing. I liked it when he had Sinestro's yellow ring, though.

And speaking of Sinestro...

Yeah, I want to know what happens to Kyle and what lousy excuse they find to bring Hal back.
