I've leafed through one or two of the books a while back, but its not really my thing. I used to run into Jerry Jenkins now and again when I lived in Colorado Springs, the modern-day mecca for Evangelical Christians. He was a speaker at a writers' conference back when my mum was the Director. Intelligent and engaging guy, but I'm not much for 'inspirational' fiction.

Heard they were nothing but Christian propaganda. So I skipped em (ahthiest). Skipped The Passion, as well. No regrets. Relgious-based entertainment isn't my thing.

I know they made two Left Behind movies, though, for all those interested in the books but not into reading.

I've heard of the books too. But I'm not really much of an advocate on the concept of Rapture... even though I am a Christian. The Passion of the Christ is more of my style.

But... to each is their own!

*nods* I've read half of the first one. I'm too busy to finish... but... I was hooked when I started. Read 200 pages in just two hours, heh. (I'm a fast reader.)

Though, it's sad when people won't read something just because it's 'religious'. It's, in essence, just like any other disaster book or film in most ways. Yes, there are religious aspects, but... maybe it should be given a chance and not cast off JUST because...

Anyway... There's a TMNT/ Left Behind fanfic out there, that actually got me to start to read the book. I'd always meant to, but hadn't. The fanfic hasn't been updated in forever, but it is an awesome read. Everyone should check it out.
