Tales of the TMNT #8 (spoilers and such)

Hey guys,

I just found the update on the next upcoming Tales issue. Its being drawn and inked by our buddy Dan Berger! There's a certain warmth and... something... that really caught my eye. I think its because of the slight similarities to the comic strip style drawing that Dan did. I really miss it...

It really makes me wish there was a comic shop around here....

Take a peek here

I just got into Tales this weekend. I'm picking up the whole backstock of all the issues this weekend and I'm totally pumped about LH! I can't wait to pick up this issue in a couple of days!

I am seriously looking forward to this... I love Dan Berger's drawing style, and his storytelling is usually filled with plenty of humor. Can't wait to read through the next Tales.

I agree this should be a good one, and yeah its nice to have more variety then Jim Lawson I like Dans art I really liked issue 45 "Leatherhead too" It was just like the first issue... I liked the art also, a unique style for the turtles which I like and the way he does the eyes reminds me of what they look like in the new show... somewhat anyway...

No, it's still not out yet...

I guess they weren't quite as ready to go monthly as they thought then? Because March is almost over, and Tales #8 & #9 both should've been out by now...

Just read #8 today.

I love this guy's art; so much better than Lawson's. I wish he'd do Tales regularly.

The story was pretty good. Got to see more of Leatherhead, and that's always a good thing. It kept telling me to "see vol 1 #45". I wish Mirage would hurry up and release some TPBs.

Anyway, I didn't get teh bit with the ninja girl stealing Raph's bandana. But then, I never read #45, and apparantly that story was important.

Leatherhead looked great, though I was looking forward to a longer fight with Raph.
Spoiler:
And for those who wondered why Leatherhead wasn't missing an eye in Vol 4, he explains that his eye grew back after he started mutating out of control.

It was alright, but what Tales REALLY needs are some 2 or 3-parters, like the Worms of Madness. There's only so much you can fit in one issue.

Just read the comic...and like i said before, I hope they dont keep the price up like they did for this one ($3.25) or even higher..

Anyways, I really enjoy Dan's sytle..it' so fresh and interesting...I also, dont remember issue 45 (though i do remember the cover I think with Rpah and Leatherhead in a pretty sweet cover) so the part with the girl ninja flew right over my head....overall though, very good book...

Skimming through the official site summary of the Vol 1. #45 issue it doesn't mention anything about a ninja girl

Interesting thing to note is that that old issue was also by Dan Berger

$3.25 is the new price now for both TMNT & Tales. I just checked last month's Diamond Previews and the current one, and both are being solicited at the $3.25 price point.

I liked this issue, but I have no idea what was up with that ninja girl. Of course, I haven't read vol. 1 #45, but she's not mentioned in the official site's description for that issue either.

Of course now I'm really wondering what happens to Leatherhead... was he on Earth in vol. 4 before the Utroms returned(I'm still missing some of the earlier vol. 4 issues)? Or did he come back with them then?

Just read Tales 8. I guess I should read issue 45 now....

I found it a rather interesting read... but my fave part was the fact that the turtles were watching a Gamera movie marathon!! Considering what Raphael looks like now in the comics that gave me a good laugh....

Whats so bad about the new price? TMNT Volume 4 only comes out once every 2 months and you have the entire month to buy the new issue of Tales. That's not a bad price at all. Ive seen bi-monthly comics go for 5
