Continuity

I've really enjoyed watching volume 1 and 2 of the old toon DVDs. they really did a nice job of continuing storyline through these episodes before they became very standalone stories. for example, the eye of sarnoth lasted a few episodes! the 2nd season ends the first season so nicely.

sorry to post a new topic on this, but im really appreciative of the DVD format for this reason: watching a long storyline, even though the 'storyline' is a very loose one.

You'll have to be patient if you want to see another continuity in TMNT episodes, that will happen again in season 8. (and in some episodes in the wonderful season 3)

Well that's strange but I never realized there was no continuity anymore before season 6.
What made me notice that was that in an episode Krang's android body was blown away, and in the following episode his body was brand new without any explanation.

It was rebuilt

And in any event, the series still had some continunity, eventually revealing Krangs' real body, the Turtolids appeared more than once, and every time Wise relocated The Technodrome after Season Three

But what about when the Technodrome sunk upside-down? and when it was almost destroyed by 3 giant liners?
Yet I agree that the continuity with the Technodrome's location was respected (except for Missing Leonardo )

Here's Lord Krang (more exactly one of his clones)

After the Earth's Core the Technodrome went to an asteroid in Dimension X, the North Pole, the bottom of the ocean, and finally was "destroyed" in Dimension X.

there is nothing wrong with stand alone episodes. I didn't much care for seasons 8 through 10. I mean season 8 i could tolerate but they just sacrificed so much of what we where all used to to abruptly

there is very loose continuity throughout the rest of the seasons, mostly with the Technodrome's location. It's very hard to put together a chronology of season 3 because of the loose continuity. Seasons 8-10 probably have the strongest continuity since season 2.
There's an odd case of reverse continuity when the Turtles act as if they've met Scumbug and Antrax before, but there are no episodes.
Also There are very few subsequent multi-part episodes like the Eye of Sarnath eps. The Big Blow Out is one that comes to mind (season 3). Another is Turtles to the Second Power (season 10).
