Favorite Resident Evil Game

I was wondering what everyones favorite Resident Evil game was. Everyone I have asked on other forums says 4 for the most part. And if not 4 then REmake. I love the style of 4 but since I played it so much I'm finding the older style to be fun again!
So far my favorite one is Resident Evil Zero, I love the style of playing. Having a partner makes the game seem more complete. Helping someone and such. I havn't played Outbreak yet so I cant say if it works well in that game yet or not. I also like Billy and Rebecca as characters. The bosses were awesome too. I liked how they tied it into the Mansion incident.

I was also wondering which one you all dislike. I, so far, dislike Dead Aim. I never thought first person and Resident Evil mixed too well and even as a Guncon game I didn't like it. Felt like a House Of The Dead rip-off. As I play through Code VX I'm starting to dislike it as well. It seems rather dissappointing so far but maybe it will pick up. I havn't fought a boss yet

Which game is your favorite and why? And which do you dislike and why?

I'd have to go and say Resident Evil 2 was the best. I know everyone says that, and it's for a good reason. The game was simply flawless. You didn't get too much ammo, nor did they skimp you too much on it. Bosses were difficult, but not impossible. There was replay value out the ass, and those secret games were so fun. It's one of those games that I can play through, then right after I beat it, I go back and beat it again. It's just that good.

I wasn't a fan of the first person shooter versions, but they provided an hour of entertainment at least. Code Veronica didn't make me smile once. It felt more like a chore playing that game than anything else. They tried to fix the camera angles by making it a little more dynamic, but even those were pretty bad. The game also was quite easy. Zombies were easy to take out and also easy to avoid (as if they're not easy enough). What also pissed me off about that game is halfway through the game, you're taken somewhere else, and if you don't have any ammo, you can't continue the game at all. I was pissed beyond beliefe when I figured that out. I played the whole game for no reason, and had to start over. I already didn't like the game, and I had to play through it again...so stupid. So yeah, Code Veronica is my least favorite.

Tie between 2 and 4 for me.

2: This thing is basically the "Empire" of RE. The plot was much more interesting, the scale was HUGE and I actually cared for the characters. (Except Sherry. I was hoping that Birkin would eat her with some pancakes.) While not as scary as the first game, it certainly had the atmosphere and jump-factor to be considered. It was like playing a video game of the S.W.A.T. scene from Dawn of the Dead.

4: They brought back my favorite character, the plot (While not great.) was a good change of pace and the gameplay was excellent and fun. One of the finest (And most exciting.) adventure games to be ever made, IMO.

2: Best story, best character development, best atmosphere, nearly perfect

4: Looks better than Prerendered in real time, scary as hell, characters from 2, new story (damn good one too), Ada Wong, nuff said.

As much as I love 4, it's only as good as it is because of 2, so I mention both

I have played and beaten all the US releases of Resident Evil, and in my opinion. Code Veronica is by far the best. its slow at parts, but its the hardest and weirdest of all the resident evils. I mean it even has a cross dressing weirdo.

I accidently rented this game once...Thought it might be pretty cool to see RE from a first person shooter...boy was I wrong.
I didn't play it for very long before i gave up on it.

You are right though, it did feel like a House Of The Dead rip-off.

Code VX got me frustrated real quick. I just couldn't really grasp the story and it seemed a bit slow and a bit to difficult (I don't even think I ever made it to a boss to tell the truth.)
I quit that game before to long as well.

Now for my favorite:

Resident Evil 2 which seems to be nearly everyone's favorite. What can I say? Great game. I've beaten it multiple times and still find myself coming back for more.

But...Am I the only one who gets irked a bit by the controls? It's a minor irritance, but I can't seem to control my character very well in RE games. They always turn out looking kinda drunk...crashing into walls and side tables.

RE 2 is my favorite so far. I just started the RE remake for Game Cube. I have RE Zero, but I haven't started that yet.....and I still haven't got my paws on a copy of RE 4.

That's what I used to think. Then I played REmake. It's really hard ot get into the old style but it's fun once you do! There's alot of games like RE. Slient Hill, Dino Crisis, Parasite Eve, Fear Effect, Clock Tower, *can't think of others at the moments* If your like me and you need something new to play their good. You have an Xbox along with an GC and a PS2 right? I just have a GC to play...my PS2 bores me >< And I don't like FPS games really so I'm not gona buy one. And all the good RPGs come out on PC so I can get them there. *I'm a weird gamer*

I've played the re-makes on the Cube as well. RE4 is so godly, when I go back and try to play those...I just can't do it. Survival Horror really isn't my genre anyways.

ouch...wasn't that a bit harsh?

I mean...I know the controls are difficult, but without the first few where would RE 4 be?

RE games have there moments...but they aren't all that boring....IMO.

Peanut likes FPS games, if I'm not mistaken, and those games are very fast paced and action packed. RE games are not. RE games are about saving ammo and not fighting everything. Solving puzzles and not killing as much stuff. You kill more enemys in the first chapter of RE 4 then there are in the first 2 RE's combined and maybe even 3. O_O So It's about pacing.

To each their own ^_^ My friend lent me Outbreak O_O But I havn't played it yet >< And he lent it to me a week ago, I suck!

Outbreak is fun the first time through it. The online play is terrible, though. You always play with a bunch of morons.
