I'm, like, new here and stuff, and a fan of TMNT. Obviously.

My experience with the franchise is the late Archie Comics series (of which I own most issues), the movies, and a few of the video games.

My favorite turtle is Raphael, because he's bad-tempered and bitter just like me; and my favorite non-turtle is Ninjara because she was just so cool.

"Furry" is an affectionate term for anthropomorphic animals--that is, animals that have been given human characteristics like walking on two legs, language, clothes, that kind of thing--and the fandom thereof. The turtles, Ninjara, Splinter, the Mutanimals, and so on are all "furry".

We have conventions just like most other fandoms where we go and dress up and just generally act like the complete loser nerds that we are; just like other fandoms we like to get online and roleplay as "furs"--I play a kangaroo named Tyrel, for example. For some reason the outside world tends to peg us as freaks, even though we're no more or less so than the sort of people who dress up as Obi-Wan Kenobi and get in line 48 hours in advance to see the latest "Star Wars" movie.

Anyway! Back to TMNT and how thoroughly awesome the Archie series is.

Hmmm... I've always thought "fur" is a necessary element to make a "furry". I've never seen any furry graphics containing birds, reptiles or not furry mammals... But well, I'm not an expert on this matter
