It looks like Playmates is trying to produce a little more items for children and they also seem a little more goofy too. It is still pretty crappy to have to see more and more of the basic four variants. I like the hunt of more rare figures (Gen) that don't all look alike.

Pale Patrol: Not too bad, I don't watch the series too much but this will probably (or probably has already) stem from the series. Probably a few episodes. I specialy like the knucklehead looking vehicle that the Turtles sit in.

Shell-Tastic: Actually better than the old series of those figures. I like how they resemble the actual figure and not a blob of clay. Funny how the neck stretches so far.

Bandanas: Not a bad idea. Hope they're cheap$$$.

Savanti Romero

I'm pretty sure it's Savanti Romero from the episode "Time Travails" which starred Renet and the turtles as knights.

Thnx..i was having the same prob as LUCKFF...well, I like the Splinter variant, as we don't see many of those so thats cool...Savti (if thats who it is) looks pretty sweet too...and it looks like they brought back the cave-turles vintage line with the dinos..i do like all of those Dino vehicles... overall, i'd say I'm happy!

The new toys are cool but I was hoping to see a few more variants instead of all the turtles...

The figures look basically like just another version of the ones we already have... There is even those things that look similar to the Mech Wrekkers...

I do like that they incorporated Splinter and stuff into the dino line...

And I LOVE the stretchy guys. The picture of Raph's head being stretched got a few laughs. I am willing to buy more than one of each of those (you know, one set to open, another to display).

Overall I cannot be disappointed (as I am thrilled about almost all new TMNT toys) but I was hoping the pictures would include some other characters that we haven't been introduced to yet!

Well you can be sure that there will be more than just these primarily dino-themed figures in the upcoming year...Playmates will slowly release info on others, and some will just pop up out of the blue...so rest assured there will be more non-variant figures.

Yeah that is Savanti for sure.

I think that Paleo Patrol is the most asanine garbage ever. A total plug for Jim Lawson (he did an indy book called Paleo, and he is the main artist for the TMNT comic books which his Paleo ads ran in). It just seems like they started out this show with only 1 or 2 seasons in mind, and eventually ran out of ideas and now they're just doing all sorts of kiddy ******** with the monsters thing and now dinosaurs. C'mon think up something more interesting like Season 1 was. I watched episodes from season 3 and fell asleep, no wonder I quit watching the show during season 2, it lost its edge and storytelling technique.

Stretch Turtles are AWESOME looking, really old school feel. Back when the turtle variants had gimmicks that made them worth buying instead of different armor on the same figure over and over. Though I wish their legs stretched too.

Oh I know there will be... But if they sent a few out to the Toy Fairs, it would get me more excited about upcoming toys than just showing us what we already know if coming out, more turtle variants.

I was a bit surprised when I saw the pics of the Paleo Crawlers... They are quite similar to the Mech Wrekkers, and let's face it. The Mech Wrekkers have a great concept behind them, but the price and the execution is poor. I will probably take up to a year to get all four Mech Wrekkers, and knowing the Paleo Crawlers are so similar is a bit of a dissappointment. Those are going to claim another chunk of my paycheque.

My votes in... And I will be buying the Shelltastic ones first... I think they are amazing (although when stretching them, I am a bit afraid of the plastic of the head or arms ripping so I must get a back up set also). And must get Savanti... I don't know who he is, but as the only other character, I am psyched.

I am looking forward to the lines, because let's face it, who doesn't love an additional figure no matter who it is... But right now I must put all efforts into getting all the figures released for the 2005 Christmas season! It will take luck, hard work and lots of moola!

I like them all, especially the Dino Runners! It's the same concept as a bike or vehicle but much more interesting (I know it's been done for god knows how long in other lines but it's a first for this one). I don't know who the secondary character is because I've only watched as far as episode 10 of season 3 but he looks really cool

A lot of them won't be out till this time next year though, so hopefully I'll have an income by then!

*sigh*

The whole Paleo-subline is disgusting. However, the Stretch Armstrong Turtles are tré cool. Definitely pick up 2 or all 4 of those.

Uhm, you guys do remember the Turtle and Dino line from the 90s right? Maybe it's an homage to that, and not utter ****.

Quit bitching.

They aren't as cool looking as the original dino line, but its better than nothing.

If you aren't gonna get them, dont bitch.

Ps. The stretch turtles are cool.

I hate when people try to be opinion nazi's. The only way we're going to get better figures/ideas we have to bitch. Otherwise we might as well give into the playmates hitler.

I doubt it's an homage, this lineup seems more cartoon oriented and they're probably just cashing in on a story arc from season whatever. The original dino turtles from like '96 look better than these and it's been almost 10 years.

As a consumer it's my God given (America enforced) right to bitch about the products. Just as it's yours to like them, but you don't see me telling you not to like them or to stop saying how much you like them.

I agree... I agree...

And honestly, statistically the "collectors" are buy a large percentage of the figures! Boycotting the "bad/poor" figures could mean fewer toys released overall, or worse.

It is something like at least one out of every four figures sold is for someone 18+.

But yeah, let us complain if we like. We are financially supporting this line too and have every right to want more for our money!

For a line like TMNT I bet the child to adult ration is smaller than that. TMNT is definitely aimed towards children, and because of that I think it suffers in the collector market, but because the kids market is so large they make up for more than enough. Which is good for the Turtles and for kids, but not so good for us collectors. I think Playmates totally disregards us and that's why they keep releasing stuff that would make our brains explode. The statues were intended to be for us collectors, but since TMNT is one of the later 80's/early 90's properties the majority of the collectors are in the 16-24 range and don't have the cash to buy the statues. Besides, playmates practically cancelled the statues anyway, I have yet to see Raph or Don solicited through diamond (I know the Mirage website got some Raph statues but that hardly counts). It'd be really nice if they just released the four turtles with over the top sculpts and awesome articulation for us "grown ups" and kept pumping out the same crap for the kiddies.

Unfortunately I've had this bond towards TMNT ever since I was born so I can't pass up the turtles when I have the chance to buy them, but I definitely don't buy it all. I won't be boycotting but I probably won't get all the upcoming figures either. Stretchy turtles do look awesome though.... There's one good thing coming out of these Turtle variants.
