Dan Bergers Letter To Me (interesting details)

I asked Mr.Berger a few questions

Howdy,

> if this is Dan Berger answering this letter, youre art kicks major ass

Thank you very much, I appreciate the compliment.

> When are some of the Mirage vol.1 and 2 comics going to be
> reprinted in a collected edition, will there ever be any more TMNT
> trade paperbacks?

Unfortunately nothing definite is planned at this time. We were
working with an outside publisher last year to release mass market
trades, but unfortunately they decided not to go forward with the
project.

> If so, Is there any truth to Dave Sim ommiting the Cerebus issue
> from TMNT #8?

Dave refuses to sign contracts and Mirage won't publish a book
featuring his character without a release signed by him, thus if/when
volume one is reprinted, there will be a replacement story for TMNT #8.

> Is Peter Laird ever going to release a Artobiography style book
> like Kevin Eastman?

He has no plans to do so at this time.

> Do you think its poosibe for Image Comics to release a collected
> edition of theyre TMNT series?

If they wanted to I'm sure that they could, but I doubt they'd be
interested at this point.

> Is The Shredder going to be in the new CG-Turtle film?

We're not releasing any details about the script at this time, I'm
sorry.

> Will the CG-flick be straight to DVD?

Nope, Warner Brothers Pictures and the Weinstein Company will be
distributing it to theaters.

> Will the Next Mutation dvd's ever be released in the U.S?

We don't know. Saban and Fox own the rights to the series, so the
decision is in their hands.

> Do you think there is any chance of Eastman and Laird doing a TMNT
> story ever again?

Anything is possible and never say never - I wouldn't count on it,
though.

Thanks for writing!

Cheers!

Yeah I am sure he can't say anything that isn't on the official site already. They aren't updating on the official imagi site either. That's a great Q and A though

I'm REALLY disappointed about the possible lack of new printings of TMNT vol.1. GNs

You know... Dan usually replies to most of his letters. For me, I usually have to wait about 2 - 3 days before I hear something from him. Nice Q&A though. I decided to stray from the movie questions. I know how stuff like that is around the big shots.

As far as anything unrelated to this show, any other TMNT show you would have to e-mail someone else. They never owned the rights to the first 2 shows. Sad... but true. I even got a response today saying exactly what he does when you e-mail the turtles... He answers them. All of them... It usually takes a week for the Turtles' letters, and he used to do it everyday, but he had to cut back because of the people who abused and wrote EVERYDAY!
