Cool TMNT News

This was passed on to me from 4Kids TV. I dunno if it was posted yet but here goes...

(compliments of a fellow imdb poster I listened to. It was posted on Sunday.)
"In TMNT Vol. 4 #24 Peter Laird confirms that work is underway on season 6 of the animated series. He promises the show will head in a "new direction" during seasons 5 and 6.
Those who believe our beloved Turtles are going off the air, fat chance. The CEO of 4kids himself says that the franchise is bringing in mucho dinero. Read on.
With more than $1 billion in total retail sales since re-launching in 2003, the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES are a major force in children’s entertainment. The all-new TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES animated TV series is in its fourth season, airing on 4Kids TV™ on Saturday mornings on FOX, as well as Saturdays and Sundays on Cartoon Network. The Turtles have enjoyed tremendous success in both television and at retail, which is expected to be bolstered by an upcoming full-length CG-animated feature film from The Weinstein Co. and Warner Bros. Pictures. The much-anticipated movie is currently in production at Imagi Animation Studios’ state-of-the-art facility in Hong Kong, and slated for a 2007 theatrical release."

Pretty exciting huh guys? See? Everything's going to turn out great! After reading this, I can't believe they're already finished working on Season 5!

This reminds me of the thread about how long we all thought the series would last. Some of us said it would end around the 10th season, others went to the extreme (like me ) and said it would surpass The Simpsons. Others thought it would end by season 6. Now I have a feeling we'll be getting up to the 10 season mark with the way things are going.

Awesome.

Yeah, that's great! Looks like TMNT pulled off the impossible comeback that all the other '80s cartoons tried to do.

Indeed, they were saying that He-Man was the greatest comeback since sliced bread, the irony is that the show lasted like only two seasons, the toy line was stopped, now the only thing being made are slightly larger then figure scale statues of characters that never made it to the actual figure line.

As a Joe fan I have a bad feeling about this "Sigma Six" junk, didn't they learn anything from "G.I.JOE Extreme".

Wow! Awesome news! What do you think he means by "new direction"? Anyone have any ideas on what that new direction could be?

*stomps on a roach with a red head*....Oops!

I have a feeling that the direction they're going is forward into 99 years in the future so it'll be the adventures of the TMNT and Cody Jones.

Sigam Six makes "Extreme" look like a Sunbow season

hmmmm.. a new direction.......

Possible SPOILER:::--

Splinter is going to die......and that will leave the turtles on their own. (That's what splinter meant in that episode, "before I leave this world..") And it is possible Leo & Raph will fight over who is the better leader

That's indeed possible...

Aw, but I would be near inconsolable if they had Splinter die. *snif* He's one of my favorites...

I really hope that don't fast foward the series into the future. That tactic sucked in the final seasons of Xena Warrior Princess when the fast foward 25 years into the future and just killed it for me. I hope they don't do that with the TMNT.

Bore You!? Not trying to be mean, but You must not be too interested in this show. I love this season, except "Wing and a Prayer". Last episode of "Aliens Among Us" was great, with more focus on Bishop and NY.

Oh, yes... I remember that. It was ridiculous how so many were whining and claiming that the series was going to end by fifth season just because it was going to get shifted to new time slot. I was like, where the Hell are you getting this feeling from?

*shakes her head* Ludicrous.

I do hope that those individuals now have some comfort after reading the first post in this thread.

My thoughts exactly. Anyone who's getting bored doesn't really have much passion for the series.
