Talking UK McDonald's TMNT happy meal toys

McDonald's in the UK and Ireland have TMNT toys in their happy meals currently and they're about halfway through the promotion now. Raphael's was last week and Leonardo was the week before. The other two should follow this week and next week. I'd love to pick a few up for people but unfortunately I'm short of cash... but you can get them at cost here if anyone's looking for them!

Here's pictures of all four from the UK website:

So cute...

Yeah, I am pretty sure that Burger King and Subway hold the rights to the toys in North America which means these toys will most likely NEVER show up over here!

I like the way they say "Raphael is also a ninja master", as if someone was thinking "You know, I knew the rest were ninjas but I was never quite sure about Raph."

Jed, nice find! I never knew about these. I gotta find someone to hook me up, as eBay doesn't have all four turtles.

These are actually really cool toys, much better than the BK ones we got here (didn't know there were subway ones too, but those probably suck as subway toys always suck). These are like mini action figures, they're great.

You could probably hold out for a bit longer for eBay because Leo and Raph are the only ones released. The other two won't be out for another 2/3 weeks. There are a lot of Leos on there because he's been out for two weeks whereas Raph just finished up yesterday. There were a few Raphs on eBay before I posted but they must have been snapped up

The Subway TMNT promotion was HORRENDOUS!

They didn't make any figures. All the toys were just cheap little "dollar store" packaged toys with TMNT stickers on them.

There was:

Donatello's Kickin' Ninja Kite (little plastic cheapo kite)
TMNT Dual Disc Launcher
Michelangelo's Shell Squirter (green hollowed out egg-shaped thing that squirted)
and the
TMNT Extreme Sports Bottle (green bottle with the usual TMNT pic sticker on it)

It was a two month promotion (Feb 7, 2004 - March 27, 2004). I am a regular at Subway (talking more than once a week) and during those months, I never even considered trading my six-inch sub for the children's meal to get the toys... The only way the toys would have been worth it would have been if someone offered me the whole display they set up. I would want that. But no, the toys from Subway were BAD

Here are photos of the recent Subway and Burger King promotions... At least BK released toys...

I am in support of the UK McDonald's. The old toys from BK were okay, but McDonald's just has the better quality toys overall because they are a larger company. I hate to say it, but if any fast food chain would do the turtles justice, it would have been McDonalds.

Too bad the rights to these guys is owned by Burger King (in the F-Food department) in North America.

Thumbs up

Donatello is this weeks turtle I still haven't come across Mikey even though he's available on eBay. Anyone who was holding out for a full set on eBay can pick all four up at the same time now!

EDIT: Watch out for this one though, it's being sold as all four turtles when it really has two Raphs and no Don. They might have all four for sale but put two Raphs in the picture by mistake, so it'd be best to send the seller an email and ask him or her if you plan to bid for that one!

Hey, those actually look pretty nice!
And I agree with others. Those toys are almost at par with the crap from Playmates.

It's a real shame... The only good toys of Playmates from the new series is only from the first year. After that, practicly all the later toys suffer in sculpture and design.

Infact, I have like, only five TMNT action figures from the new series. I never bothered to waste my money on all the crap they produced after the first set.

You guys are cracking me up! You're definitely right, though -- these are some wicked cool Happy Meal toys. Kinda gets me all nostalgic for the days when I was a young 'un and the toys were good... and I actually did get happy when I opened up that cardboard house thingy to find a prize inside. Where has the time gone?

My main problem with the new line is that the figures aren't wacky enough -- they're getting there with the Mystic Fury figs, but they still look too much like the regular figs to me! I'd be pleased if they released the Super Turtles of "Reality Check", though...

You made a good choice....I should have stopped sooner. Now I have some awesome happy meal highlights such as Stonebiter and General Mozar -_- Even my belove Leatherhead totally sucks. The only good toys are the TMNT themselves and all their varients...
