To add a bit of fun, I ask everyone to include what makes them read the comic books.

Anyways, I read lots and lots of comic books, but I'll just name my current favourites.
  • Fables: This is all Jo's fault, I tell you. She told me that it was good and now I'm hooked. The whole premise is pretty interesting, fairy tale figures in NYC (there sure is a lot of weird stuff in New York).
  • Y - the last man: All the men are dead and nobody knows why. But what they do know is how Yorick, the last man on earth, survived. Now they're trying to find Yorick's fiancée and save mankind. Too bad Yorick's a sarcastic moron at times and lacks every social skill you could possibly imagine.
  • Runaways: I guess the fact that you're not only seeing the cool, funny life of heroes is what really appeals to me. I mean, they have to steal, to run and deal with supervilains. And it also explains why all the supervilains were on the eastcoast.
  • Sixgun Samurai: I'm still not sure about how much I like that one, but I sorta like the story so far.
  • Girls: Not only do I adore the art by the luna brothers, but I also like the story. It's one of those unique things you don't come around too often.
  • Strange Girl: What happens if the Rupture comes and you're left? Hell takes over and you have to make a living somehow. The art is what really has me hooked. It's sometimes just a couple of scribbles in the background, but once you get used to it, it all makes perfect sense.
  • Preacher: I know this one's old, but I haven't read it yet. But does it get better than a cussing preacher, a female assassin and an irish vampire?
So, I hope I didn't bore you too much...

I read everything I can put my fingers on. Doesn't make much difference to me if it's European, American or Japanese stuff. I only purchase quite a small fraction of what I've actually read - mainly European comics and American graphic novels, I'd say.

Why I read this silly stuff? Dunno... maybe because it combines both literature and graphical art. And I dig both of them.

Fables is possibly one of THE best comics out there!! Fables rox!!!

I read:
Fables: AWESOME AWESOME series!! Im glad tho they're not going overboard after it was revealed who the big bad is... Can't wait to see Bigby again!

All the Decimation related comics (it's a marvel thing)

Ant V2: I don't think they even made a vol 1..

Infinite Crisis (which is almost over...)

One Year Later (uh..the after effects of Infinite Crisis...which is a bit odd they actually release this before I.C was even over..meh ah well)

Spiderman Loves Mary Jane: At this point not really but M.J sure has the majors for him

New Avengers: Oh the comedy....

The Pulse

Marvel Zombies: Brains!

Nextwave: Fin Fang Foom put you in his pants.

Black Panther V4: They just saved a Katrina ravaged New Orleans from Vampires...

Ares: Never mess with the god of war's son..

Hard Time: Prison is weird

All Star Batman and Robin: He's the god damned Batman!

Batman Year 100: The year is 2039. Who are these people? I mean really? Capt. Gordon is the grandson of Comissioner Gordon... no clue who everyone else is.

Marvel Manga-verse: Welcome to a universe where Wolverine and Cyclops are brothers...seriously...

Mine's very short...

Teen Titans (I wait for the tradepaperbacks to come out though, so I'm always behind on what's happening.)

Angel Sanctuary (beautiful manga with a deep plot. Tons of character development and the plot is wild! It can get very confusing, but most of the questions get answered over time.)

Buckaroo Banzai: I picked up the preview copy of this a couple months ago and I wanted more. I feel asleep watchin' the movie, but I'll try to watch it again one of these days.

Marvel Milestones: This Marvel anthology that comes out bi-monthly or whatever is somethin' I'd perfer over an Uitmate Spider-Man or most current Marvel titles. This comic collects older Marvel stories like the origin of Iron Man or reprints somethin' like Secret Wars #8. Even though this one kindy pricey, I figure it's worth it cuz I would normally hafta pay top dollar on eBay for an original copy of Secret Wars #8. The last issue I bought cost five bucks, but it was a little over ninety pages.

Army of Darkness: I'm really enjoyin' this series and the third miniseries has recently ended. This comic has went through a lot of changes and it hasn't been around that long. I like how this comic takes elements from the Evil Dead Trilogy and expands on it by addin' new characters and story arcs. The next miniseries "Old School" looks like it'll be great and it takes place between the events of Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness or somethin' like that. I just hope it keeps exceedin' my expectations and makes me wanna keep readin' it.

My comic book reading is not as consistant as most. I usually wait for a series to come out in TPB form to read it. I don't do the periodic visit to the comic book store anymore. I try to make it to get new issues, but it's hard.

Anyhoo, a list of current publications I'm reading are:
  • Spider-Man -- A major staple in my comic book reading. I make sure I keep up to date on it.
  • X-Men -- Another main title of mine. I've been collecting since #1 and don't intend to stop until I die or it gets cancelled.
  • Savage Dragon -- I love this book. Sadly, my comic store hasn't kept decent enough tabs on it and I miss a few issues here and there.
  • Spawn -- Like X-Men, I've been a collector of this book since the first ish and try my damnedest to maintain getting all the issues.

And here is a list of non-publicated books I keep reading even though they're old:
  • Preacher -- Very good read. Anyone who looks past the violence and actually reads the dialogue is in for some intriguing incite on humanity.
  • Akira -- Visually breathtaking. The story is nice, too. This is the only manga I have.
  • The Tick -- Entertaining as hell.

I read a lot of different books in the past, but in the last year I've fallen onto a couple regulars and that's it.

Ultimate Spider-Man
The Transformers (IDW)
Star Wars Republic
Star Wars Empire

I read a lot more Marvel stuff before, but I pretty much lost intrest in them. Which is weird, because I've read ASM for well over 10 years.

Well, the Sentry miniseries just ended, leaving me with...

Astonishing X-Men: Joss Whedon and X-Men, a potent combination.

Action Comics: For the most part the Superman titles have been in a slump for a few years in my eyes (with the exception here and there), but OYL has pretty much breathed new life in the books.

Birds of Prey: Huntress is pretty much one of my favorite (if not my absolute favorite) comic book characters and Gail Simone has making this title a joy to read since her first issue. And with Lady Shiva and Prometheus showing up in the title, it's even more worthwhile.

Marvel Team-Up: Hasn't been a bad issue yet, and the last arc gave major props to Darkhawk. Now that's cool.

Moon Knight: Always been a MK fan, so this is pretty much a no brainer for me.

Ms. Marvel: Same as Moon Knight and, while only two issues in, the series has been worthwhile.

Street Fighter II: Always have been a fan of this franchise through thick and thin, and the first volume was worthwhile, so...

Superman: Same as Action Comics.

Tales of the TMNT: For me it's been a bit hit or miss (granted, it's a rotating creative team, that is pretty much to be expected) but it's been overall worthwhile.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Things are starting to pick up and I'm curious to see where it all goes.

The Sensational Spider-Man
: Granted, I'm pretty much only reading it because both Black Cat and Lizard are big parts of the current storyline.

The Uncanny X-Men: Where else am I going to get my Nightcrawler fix?

X-Men: Mainly keeping up with it currently for the return of Apocalypse.

She-Hulk- The world needs funny comics, and I thank Dan Slott for this series.
52- I want to finally see more Booster and Ralph Dibny, and now I get to. I just have to hope and pray that the powers that be at DC don't kill either of them for sales, as they are often wont to do.
The Thing- Once again, a light-hearted and well-written comic by Dan Slott. The Thing's my favorite Marvel hero, too.
TMNT- shouldn't need to explain
Tales of the TMNT- ditto
Captain Atom: Armageddon- I... like Captain Atom? Some of it's been very funny, as well.
Flaming Carrot- This is hilarious. Pick it up when it comes out, you'll see.
Fantastic Four- The family element was really being played out lately, although the last two were kind of a cheat.
