TMNT actor alert!!
I was looking to see what this week's ep of "House" was about in Yahoo and well I guess all the networks that have medical dramas decided to do a theme..."Lets have a shooting in the hospital!".. E.R had one and Grey's Anatomy had one...and this Tuesday "House" will have one when a former discruntled patient of House's shoots him...that former discruntled patient is...*drum role*.. Elias Koteas (Movie Casey Jones)!
His character is named Moriarty. So either the TMNT or Sherlock Holmes are needed to solve this case!

House is full of Holmesian parallels. House:Holmes, Wilson:Watson, addicted to vicodin:addicted to heroin, House even lives at Apt# 221B and that's to say nothing of their deduction techniques. So yeah... Moriarty's gotta mean bad, bad news.
When I saw the preview for the season finale, I couldn't help but yell "CASEY JONES!" House is in for a world of pain.

But yea.. we were discussing the Holmesian connections to House in a chat room I go to. I never realized his apt was 221B! Ah here's some trivia...seems that the show has a Holmsian feel on purpose: David Shore has said that the character of House is inspired by the fictional character Sherlock Holmes, particularly with regard to drug use and his desire (and capacity) to solve the insolvable. House uses Holmesian deductive techniques to diagnose his patients' problems. References to the sleuth range from the obvious (House's apartment number being 221B) to the subtle (his friendship with Dr. James Wilson and the similarities between the names "House" and "Holmes", and "Wilson" and "Watson"). And now.. Casey Jones is quite literally his Moriarty.

He sometimes was in a stupor for days. Watson tried for years to get him to quit. He eventually did but there were many a story that mention his addiction. There's a website called The Chronicles of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle that has a page all about Holmes and his drug addiction. This is a scene from "The Sign of the Four": Sherlock Holmes took his bottle from the corner of the mantel-piece and his hypodermic syringe from its neat morocco case. With his long, white, nervous fingers he adjusted the delicate needle, and rolled back his left shirt-cuff. For some little time his eyes rested thoughtfully upon the sinewy forearm and wrist all dotted and scarred with innumerable puncture-marks. Finally he thrust the sharp point home, pressed down the tiny piston, and sank back into the velvet-lined arm-chair with a long sigh of satisfaction. A little later in the story Holmes states, "It is cocaine," he said, "a seven-per-cent solution. Would you care to try it?" So as you see Sherlock Holmes was not only a user but a pusher as well. Sure he eventually quit...but as Watson says in "The Adventure of the Missing Three-Quarter" "For years I had gradually weaned him from that drug mania which had threatened once to check his remarkable career. Now I knew that under ordinary conditions he no longer craved for this artificial stimulus, but I was well aware that the fiend was not dead, but sleeping." http://www.siracd.com/work_h_cocaine.shtml So maybe Wilson will eventually wean House off the pain killers like Watson did with Holmes?
