Beg pardon, Cure4AIDS (nice nick, btw), but they'll be repeated September 9TH, not the 10th. The 10th is on a Sunday. No biggie, though.

Anyway, I'm looking forward (pardon the bad pun) to seeing these. They sound interesting.

Peace.

Making money is all well and good, I think the problem lies when fans feel they've been sold out because there's no money in keeping an older fan base and therefore the series must lower it's standards and cater to a younger demographic. I know I'll watch, and probably buy the figures, but there are others who feel that the TMNT have been sold up the creek to make more money at the sake of alienating it's older fan base and at the lose of decent story telling.

The thing is that most fans including myself at one point being an old school fan even of just about every tmnt incarnation and then some don't really understand is that this isn't our TMNT as much as we want it to be.
I think allot of us are holding onto something to strongly.
TMNT is something for everyone and I stand behind them 100% as long as it keeps them around a little longer. Perhaps I'm just not as crazy about them that I want to send death threats to the people keeping them around.
I think everyone really just needs to wait to see the show before they start worrying and bashing it to high heaven.
Who knows many people could end up loving it I was really worrying about it myself at first then I said wait seriously it's just a cartoon and it's not that big of a deal when we have so many other things going on around us how the TMNT are drawn or where they go and what age group it's marketed towards should be the least of our worries.
If they (fox)/ Peter Laird wanted the cartoon to be an adult property he wouldn't have taken it to them as a kids show.
As much as many of us don't want to admit to it but allot of us are holding onto our childhood's way to much.
I'll also say this you say they feel like they are being betrayed by the show right...well how about this you stop supporting them and what good is that going to do..oh you guys think well that will show them I'm so smart well guess what thats the dumbest thing anyone could possibly do if you stop showing them you care about the characters no matter how they look and whatever else well guess what the guys are gonna go away for a very long time again.
And to me that's a very sad thing I do not want to see happen.
In closing I'll say I think allot of us need to stop being such big cry babies and grow up and stop hoarding the TMNT and let a new generation of fans grow up with them and enjoy them cause I think these kids of today are damn lucky to have this show it's the one I wish we had when I was growing up...only thing I'd do differently would be to add the Archie series into it all.

Showing a preview early is a smart move. It'll HOPEFULLY quell our fears of the show's brand new direction. Either that or make us hate it more.

I wouldn't mind them doing this to try to push product... if the product was anything worth pushing.

Serously, Playmates, add a few more joints to the non-Turtle figures and I'll buy the toys again. The first wave was *perfect*... why'd you have to go screw it up?

My view of it is: Laird says so, and as far as TMNT is concerned, Laird is God. So whatever he plans to do, I can live with it. It's his baby. Sure there are some things I don't agree with that he's done with-- or allowed to be done with -- the franchise, but in the end it doesn't really matter all that much. C'est la vie.

What's this? Shredder is Krang?! We've been sold out!! This show is ruined!

You guys (and ladies) remember that discussion? Has the world ended yet? If Laird gives his approval, I'm behind it. He hasn't led us astray yet, so his judgement should be trusted.

...so did anyone catch the "Fast Forward" promo on 4KidsTV yesterday? The promo only said it was premiering this summer, but the lines at the end got me a little worried:

*grooming robot shaves Raph*
Raph: "The future stinks."
Grooming robot: "No, that's your armpits."

Ugh. I very much hope that second line was added to the promo by the idiots at 4KidsTV and isn't in an actual episode..

Fast Forward is'nt anything like the Shredder/Utrom storyline, that was part of a lengthy arc, FF is a network-ordered diversion from the story they were originally going to tell, Laird only approved it to keep the show on the air.

Uh, yeah... I didn't think I had to spell it out for you, Richard. Mr. Laird knows how much creative control to sacrifice in order to keep the turtles afloat without alienating the fanbase. Work on your reading-between-the-lines skills, sport. Your grammar could use a little work too.
