If there had been a 97 Season....

What do you think the makers behind the original toon would've had in store if a 1997 (11th) Season was made? Also what would be your preferences to see what you would rather like it to be played out?

Well, in the last ever episode, they put Dregg through the portal, along with Krang's android which was about to explode, but we still don't know if Dregg was killed or gone for good? My guess is they would've brought Dregg back, along with Mung and they might be the main villains once again, with their HQ in a new location in Dimension X. I think they might involve Krang and Shredder again, but Dregg would still remain main villain. New villains would be introduced definetely, most likely of alien descent. There might've been a major change in the music as well, but theme song would not change. Possibly the turtles would be going on a tour of different planets and galaxies to stop Dregg, and the season becomes even more sci-fi obsessed. Splinter may go his seperate way as well, as in the last episode, he tells them he has taught them everything.

If it was done my way, Dregg would still return, but, relegated to minor role, while Shredder and Krang, Bebop and Rocksteady would return, and even the Rat King. They would be the only old villains to return. The theme song would be returned to the original and best, but with an updated sound. Thats very roughly how i would like it, i'm sure you guys can slip this in even more detail.

Had it came back the an eleventh season it probably would've kept the same theme and Dregg and Mung were still the main villians. I'm almost certain they wouldn't try to bring back Shredder and Krang. They got rid of them for a reason, after having a reputation of being idiots who insult each other all the time they just didn't fit the "red sky" so they needed a more serious villian. I was suprised they brought them back in the season 10 3 parter.

I would've like seen Shredder return with Bebop and Rocksteady leading the foot clan to old glory once again. Dregg will never return and Krang will show up to join Shredder again.

1997

Here are some parts that would have been interesting?

Splinter being transformed back into human again.
The TMNT visiting modern Japan.

Well, I think they should have tried to bring the cartoon back to it's "classic" routes;
Have Channel 6 return to their routes, with April re-joining, Splinter change back into regular Yoshi, Shredder come back with Rocksteady/Bebop, and a new opening with new footage, but going back to the original theme song.

pretend that red sky never happened and continue on from where the series left off at season seven and retain that feel and tone of that season (which was more akin to season one) and go on from there while gradually making the storylines more serious and gritty, while maintaining the humour of the series only a bit more sophisticated and less slap stick, with more solid continuity to the story lines.

Also keeping Shredder and Krang as the main villans only making them more of a geniuan threat and maybe adding more villains that are more serieus rather than ridicualous.

That is how I would have liked the classic TMNT series to have gone.

Your saying ignore Red Sky but then you say have them make shredder and krang more of a real threat and that's exactly how red sky started off...
As much as I liked them bringing a new villian into the show I agree that they should have kept the 2 around longer....as well as other characters.
Red sky was great it was pretty much becoming the show when it first started again I mean what with april being fired which I thought was great and bring casey back.

I would have made Lord Dregg stay gone and brought back Shredder and Krang and R&B. It could very well be dark with Shredder and Krang at the helm, they just had to write them that way and make the stories darker and less comical. Also I would have features the Ninja Foot Soldiers more and more fights with TMNT and The Shredder. And they could have used Rocksteady and Bebop a little less, they didn't have to be in every single episode. I would have brought back The Rat King and Casey Jones.

I would've liked to see shredder and krang return somehow. I remember in the divide and conquer episode, splinter says that the turtles are now his equals. I think that maybe it would be kool to see the turtles more independent than before because of what splinter said. In the series they were always splinter's students, but what happens once they are equals? I'm not saying they have to split up and have seperate lives necessarily, but it would be kool to see the turtles more mature. Anywho, that's my thought on what I'd like to have seen in the '97 season. I really wished they would've just continued the cartoon instead of bringing the next mutation show in. I remember how disappointed I was when the tune was canceled.

that's a good one I like that idea also...and ye I think myself and many other had been very sad the day the old toon got taken off also.
When I saw that last episode and Splinter said that I remember getting really sad.

um, no I mean a slightly more serious while in keepiong with the tone of season seven. Which still had the humour of previuos seasons with only a more seriuos approuch to it.

What I didn't like about red sky is that it was too abrupt, and they sacrifed the shows charm and humour in the process. Season seven even though the storylines where a bit more serous and action packed, still maintained its charm and character development. it was a good balance, and would have been awsome if the tone had stayed that way while gradually becomeing more serius over time, with stronger continuaty. What turned me off to Red Sky was that is was to event driven and didn't play up the turtles as much as they did (except for when they where mutating out of control), and sacrifed characters that i had liked and brought in a few that i couldn't give two sh**s about.

So yeah, to wrap this up, i would have liked a contuation of seasons seven tone on the series.
