TMNT (2007) Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

What should we expect? Let's speculate or invent a soundtrack for it.

My guess: We can probably expect a number of instrumental tracks (ala Batman). The few lyrical songs will likely be forgettable songs made exclusively for the project, like 'Ninja Rap' without the iconic performer whose name will later become the punch-line of many a joke.

What I'd like to hear: Industrial.

What I'd hate to hear: Pop, or anything else mainstream.

Lyrics they should avoid: Vulgarity and sexual references. That shouldn't need to be said, but there's no other way to explain the soundtrack to the live-action Street Fighter movie and tons of other comic films. TMNT is too good for that.

I'd like to see a fair amount of rock tunes, sprinkled with a few rock/pop melodies for good measure. I don't expect there to be any heavy metal, per se, though some suitably deep, rockin' tunes would fit in nicely with the edgy look of the film. It also wouldn't hurt to have some solid songs by renowned artists, just to elevate the soundtrack to another plateau, so to speak.

...In any event, a remix of "Tarzan Boy" would officially make me wet my pants in excitement.

I'm sure they'll put together some amazing scores (I hope they put out a CD of the scores its self so I can use for a fan film I'm thinking of!)

but I hope they have a mix considering that I cant see all the turtles listening to the same kind of music.

Isn't Don into country? In the first videogame for the 2K3 series, they had him say "Yee-Haw", "Rawhide" & "Crack The Whip" so often that one would conclude... Mike's the one with the sci-fi fascination. Don doesn't have much time for television. When he does, he'd rather watch something educational.

i think they should stick mainly to score with maybe some instrumental hip hop for some lighthearted parts with mikey and stuff.

I love rock, but I don't know if I'd like that for the soundtrack. Lyrics distract me; I'd just want instrumentals. I like cormano's idea.

Liking 'Western' stuff =/= liking country.

Howzabout some Jon Peter Lewis? I hear that guy's not bad.

I'd like a tiny throwback somewhere in the movie or in the credits where they play either
a) the original cartoon theme
b) the first movie's credits song "T-U-R-T-L-E Power"

The first is more likely, it'd be neat if they incorporated it into the movie. Like when Mike is in the Cowabunga Carl van it would play music like an ice cream truck, but instead of "Do your ears hang low" or whatever ice cram trucks play, the carl van would play an instrumental original toon theme. It'd go nicely with the "Cowabunga" part in the van's name.
