YAY!! I just won the costume contest at work!!!

yeah!! I'm proud....Won a gift certificate to the mall Actually I didn't try too hard...I was just the cutest I'll put pics in the picture thread later...me in all my blue queen glory.

Anyways, we are also having a big soul food cook off (get it? Halloween, soul food? ) I made some collard greens (oh hush, they're good!) last night. I hope I win that too.

And tonight, taking my friend's kids trick-or-treating

Anybody else got fun plans for today????

Congrats on w/e this Blue Queen thing is. My plans are to find my Garfield DVD and watch the Halloween special and "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown". I didn't even know there was a Halloween ep until I bought the DVD. Why are there so many parties on Halloween night that I never get invited to? Is it some sort of Satanic ritual that they don't think I'd be interested in or what? Oh well... My answer would be "thanks for the offer but Halloween parties aren't my thing" anyway.

Horray! You won! *throws confetti everywhere* May I follow you to the ends of the earth, your highness? Glad you won. It goes to show that the little girl by herself in the corner with a lot of love to give goes well with blue velvet and satin. Great job!

hehehe

Of course, my heart is already owned by someone else

But yeah....I cook food like that all the time. It's the stuff I was taught to cook as a 11 year old kid Collards, mustard greens, turnip greens, green beans, dressing (that's stuffing for you northern folks) corn bread, pinto beans, fried chicken, honey baked ham, fried corn, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, REAL macaroni and cheese, sweet tea....... And not a bit of it is diet food either.

YUMMY!!!

I dunno what's not real about mac&cheez, but "fried corn"?? PM me some. I can't wait to try it. ^_^ But, seriously, is that anything like corn nuggets, or is it on the cob?
