Minor things bugging me about the new TMNT
Don't get me wrong, I am TOTALLY psyched up for the new show, but several things are bothering me:
1) I'm scared that it won't appeal to me as it did when I was a kid 2) The sketches look eerily like the Jackie Chan cartoon drawing styles (has anyone else noticed this?) This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it just doesn't feel unique. 3) A sudden surge in TMNT websites backed up by webmasters who don't truly know about TMNT. I have noticed that this happens way too often in other TV series' (Dragonball Z, Pokemon, etc). These sites don't have much useful information and they're all similar in the end. All the TMNT websites right now are extremely unique and tubular What do you guys think about this? Leave some love... Will

2) That's probably because Dong Woo (the production company that is making the TMNT) also makes Jackie Chan Adventures 3) More TMNT websites a problem? How? That tells me that there is interest out there, and that's a good thing. You consider undermanhattan a good website? It hasn't been updated in like 4 months.

Yeah...you both have good points there. It's just that when The Next Gen came out I was really excited about it and then after watching it I was kinda like "bleh.." and I don't want that to happen again.
Rat King, thanks for the info on Dong Woo. As for website, I guess I wouldn't MIND more tmnt websites...it's just that once it gets sooo popular there will many websites that all seem the same (except different in layout) and it will all get monotonous. I am satisfied by the scarce amount of tmnt websites that we have right now. They are all original in their own way. UM hasn't been updated in 4 months, but it definitely has some original sections like Tokka's comix to back a reader up for a while, as opposed to nextgen website with basic info about the tmnt. Oh well, that's just my own personal opnion...I'm not sure if I'm conveying my point properly. I hope you guys understand what I'm tryin to say! William

I understand the website thing. There are already lots of websites that all have the same exact profiles and information on the Turtles. I personally like the sites that present fanworks, or take a unique twist on the information, or specializes on an overlooked area of TMNT.

I personally like to hang out at the sites with a good community. I find that I'll return to a site if there is a good community, or even a community there in the first place! I find sites aren't that appealing if they don't have a message board/chat function that you can't express your opinions with other people that share the same interests.

And now after making such a fuss about the whole website ordeal, I have an urge to make one myself! Haha of course if I did I would try my best not to contradict what I just said...

Yeah, it does have that animation style approaching Jackie Chan. Lets just all vbe happy its not being done in that KIDDY anime style, the crappy Hanna Barbara 60's style that spopular(Teamo Supremo, Power Puff, Dexter's Lab, etc) or the even more horrific American comic hero animation(The Avengeres, Stargate, Mummy, etc)
But you know, I am very excited about this. I really dig the character designs. Yeah they are minimalist, but theres something cool about em. Anyways, I wont judge til Ive seen a few episodes next month. As for websites...I just wish sites could pretend the whole Archie comic thing never happened. Its embarassing to go to the official TMNT site and see the kiddified Archie comics motif and Archie looking comic strips so plentiful there. Even when I was 11 in the late 80's I preferred the darker, original look to that over kiddified garbage. Thank goodness at last the first film reflected this.

I thought the Archie TMNT comics were great! It was even better than the cartoon itself. It was atleast better when it started going for the edgy stuff like its Mirage counterpart.

Well Both arhie and the cartoon were made to bring TMNT to the children. Archie was better at that.
I don't understand why you are saying it shouldn't have excisted. Neither archie or the cartoon affected Mirage. |

Anyways, the above comment was how I see a lot of site adopting the Archie TMNT motif, instead of a moder modern or original TMNT look. Surely Im not the only one who prefers a more interesting TMNT look than the Archie style.

I think that anyone who knows of both the darker versions of TMNT as well as the more kid-oriented ones consider them two different realities. They don't just act like one doesn't really exist because its different. They appretiate both for what they are, two vastly different series.

True, they're all quite different universes, but i like em all...some less than others but still..
Talkin' bout the rpg books, anyone seen the comic in palladium's tmnt & other strangeness, when the tmnt are in an apartament and some thiefs try to rob it...was that comic made exclusively for the rpg book or was it taken from a mirage comic issue? |

I think the RPG books had exclusive stories.
