New Cartoon Foot Soldiers

I know they will be human, but what i am asking is are they gonna be the same skill level w/ the turtles in fighting? Because i think it is better when the turtles win some loose some.

Well The Fot are not nearly as skilled as the TMNT, but they come in so great numbers, that the TMNT hardly get away without injuries...

no, karpo's right. they are like the well-trained, albeit misguided, minions of Oroku Saki.

The Foot, if you think about it, could never really be on par with the TMNT. That also came to bother me with some issues of the TMNT in all the continuties.

First of all, if you have been training in isolation for 15 years in the art of ninjitsu in the style of the Foot, you'd be extremely deadly. The foot, because they have lives outside the foot clan itself, especially for most of it, have been distracted by everyday activities. There is no way that they could get as much training/focus on their ninjitsu skills such as the TMNT did.

Second of all, a mutated Turtle would be physically too strong to take down, unless you were a Mutated animal yourself. Add that to the fact that they've been training pretty much non-stop, free of the outside world, for about 15 years, and there's pretty much no way that you could take them out if you were a member of the foot, much less a ninja master.

But, for storyline purposes, the TMNT did win some, and lose some. They also lost 1 on 1 with some guests in the Mirage Comic, just to add that Dire effect.

Then again,if you think about it, why am I analyzing the TMNT so far into depth? They are giant mutated Turtles taught ninjitsu by their master for crying out loud!

First of all, the amount of time you spend on training or even how hard you train is not as important as how you train and your attitude on training. Hatsumi-soke has spoken of people who have trained very rigidly and seriously their entire lives like it was some kind of job and didn't progress anywhere near as far as the ninja that practiced the art of living. Right heart and spirit is more important than physical exertion.

Secondly, natural talent also comes into play. The skill a martial artist exerts is always a balanced combination of talent + training. Of course, talent isn't everything. It may take them longer, but ninja without as much natural talent can still acquire the necessary skill.

Okay, this may shock you, but the turtles don't have any kind of superhuman strength. Any physical strength they have had they acquired through their martial arts training.

Also, among highly skilled and well-trained ninja, physical strength is virtually unimportant. You have to learn to fluidly utilize your entire body in natural flowing movement (taijutsu) and not rely on crude bone and muscle exertions. That is why an 80 year old tai chi master can drop a 300 pound man with a 2 inch punch. Its natural energy: ki or chi. ('use the force, luke')

Well, to be fair, they WERE outnumbered greatly most of those times.

Besides, ninjutsu training is not some kind of magical guarantee that you will always win or survive. It just greatly increases your chances compared to the average schmuck

Eh. Why not??

Yes, I know they didn't have Superhuman strength, but the strength of a mutated turtle to almost a human's height would be significally stronger than that of a Human Being. That much is a fact, as in a size ratio, Human Beings are one of the weakest/most fragile species known. The only reason we survive is because we have superior mental capactiy to other species.

You have to remember that outside being Mutant Ninja Turtles and being shunned by society, the TMNT don't have much else more to their lives besides their training. This would most likely make them more capable, especially on the average against the raging hordes of the Foot, to be more skillful.

The person who came up with the phrase that Natural Talent prevents them from doing something was probably a quitter. People who say that they have restrictions because of genetics (besides being disabled in some way), are just taking the easy way out and don't want to grit it out. It's just a give up attitude, but anyways, back on to the topic.

Also, toting around a giant shell of that proportion on your back would most likely prohibit the turtles from learning any form of sudden movement, much less Ninjitsu, would rule out possibility of there even being the TMNT.

We could get in the Physics of the whole thing, but then it would turn out like this one article I read. They actually found out how strong Spiderman's web was and how strong Doomsday had to be physically to defeat Superman....

Psycrow, you really shouldn't try and pretend you know more about ninjutsu than me. I actually practice it.

Actually, it would have very little, if any, bearing at all on the training. The importance in ninjutsu is the right mind and attitude to training. It is how you train, not for how long or how hard. Ninjutsu is NOT like weightlifting.

You obviously havent spent much time training in martial arts. People really DO have more talent than others. This is not a limitation on anyone's part. People with less talent simply have to counterbalance with their training.

No moreso than with us carrying around our skeletones. It depends on the structural strength of the body.

But do you have any idea how strong a mutated turtle would have to be just to stand upright with a shell on his back?

Well, if we take the new action figures as an example, the shell does block some movement. After examination, the hip joints of the new figures look the same as the shoulders, but the shell of the figure gets in the way of the movement.

After studying the turtles' body structure, it's obvious that there are signifigant differences between their and a human's body structure. It's not necessarily the weight of the shell, but it's inflexibility. Assuming that their spines are still fused with their shells like regular turtles, and the carapaces seem very solid, it limits their movement. But I'd still argue that 15 years is more than enough time to find ways around that.

I ment in appearence, they do bear a strikingly simalar look. And the way they attacked in the opening looks like it could have been pulled from Jackie Chan. I know they're human, but they do seem to have a very simalir movement; from the brief monents on screen
