Posted at Newsarama, when someone complained that the now show probably would be as "kiddified" as the old cartoon:

Well yeah we know that the new cartoon is more mature than the old one, But it still kiddiefied version of Mirage. And if the Comic will be heavily based on the show, Then it will be that way too. Personally Im waiting for something like Ultimate Spider-man or Gotham Knights...
Any idea when the comic is coming out? |

Well I must give props to Beaker for breaking this story first. I'm hoping with all of you that it is a good serious comic. I really think that the days of "kiddified" TMNT are over. I'm hoping (and judging from the episode descriptions we are going to get) a show that is "suitable for kids" but not "written for kids". There is a tremendous difference between those two phrases. From what I can gather from Peter Laird he wants to bury the "kiddified" image more than anyone else. I can't say I blame him.

I know what you mean. Like Batman TAS, Bot adults and kids loved the show. I have high expetations for this show, and new comic too. I hope it will turn out as a serious comic.

"Kiddified Mirage"?
Well, it kinda has to be, doesn't it? This is a show mainly intended for kids and preteens. Not exactly the best demographic for ninjas being impaled on swords and having their heads lopped off, now is it? The tone is what matters. The old cartoon took the TMNT and made them goofy. The new one won't. 'Nuff said?

Yeah we know that show is kiddiefied Mirage, but we are hoping that the comic would be more like "Ultimate Spider-man" and such.

Well, the new comic is supposed to be based on the cartoon, right? So it stands to reason they'll be extremely similar.
I'd like to see an "Ultimate TMNT" too, though. I've actually had a whole bunch of ideas for a title like that in the past month...

Yes, but the diffrence is, Peter Laird is now the "creative Director" of the show, won't allow it to turn like the old cartoon did after first season. But still we don't know waht the new comic will be like. Direct adaption of the show or something like "Ultimate Spider-man". I think the latter would be great, I like how the Ultimate Spider-man brough the story to todays world, and is diffrent version of the Amazing Spider-man. I love both.
If something like that happened to the TMNT, that would be a dream. But as it is show based, it might rule out the possibility of death, and so it would be impossibel for it to become "Ultimate-TMNT". |

They were most certainly NOT 'goofy', particularly the later issues.

Well they weren't as goofy as cartoon, no by far, but they had much more humor than Mirage series. Still It is a good children's comic, I really liked it.

The Archie were great... still had the humor that I expected with the TMNT but with an overall more adult tone...

Defintely more mature than the cartoon. If mirage was from ages of 12-... Archie could have been like 8-12.
