The budget is around 30 million dollars
http://www.usatoday.com/life/movies/...es-cover_N.htm carried a modest budget of about $30 million. http://www.latimes.com/technology/la...nes-technology "We were able to bring the film in at $34 million," Gray said. (By contrast, the budget for Pixar's "Cars," which was created entirely in-house, is estimated at $120 million.) |

Everyone's also forgetting about marketing costs. Those TV ads and radio spots cost bookoo bucks too. That's also added in with the production cost. This is why it's important for it to do well domestically. Once this weekend is over that's the biggest step.

It really should'nt be hard for them to earn a nice profit for this--even if it doesnt hit 100 million on the dot.

I'm worried that they haven't spent enough on publicity. Not so sure what it's like in the USA, but there hasn't been a lot of hype about the movie here. Normally there's a lot of publicity for the kid's Easter movie (BK/Macdonald's toys, posters, radio slots, TV featurettes etc), but I've only seen a couple of trailers on tv. It's not like TMNT didn't have a huge fanbase in the UK - the old fans are talking and getting excited about it, but there's been bugger all advertising.

Yea I agree...I'd say that overall, there wasn't very much hype put up for the movie..the previews themselves weren't shown in great numbers until this month, whereas with alot of movies, the previews are showing up a couple months in advance...even in theaters, the preview was hard to come by...I woulda much rather sen the preview plastered all over the place but I know that costs $$$

Well, its page at IGN is the most popular one as of right now. And I have been seing enough TV spots, I'm sure we'll be well off.
Back on topic, I'm pretty sure it was somewhere around $35-40 |
