Im surprised Mirage hasnt put out more trades of the vol 1 issues.....

to capitalize on the movie.
Yes , I know of the prequel comics and ebay/used comic shops/official site.
But Im wondering if they will do new versions in the near future.
I would really like a new printing of these great books for my collection and posterity.

I hope they would consider doing a City at Wat tpb or even vol 2 collections or vol 4 someday.

Ah well, i can dream , cant I? lol

Hes redoing them and then going to put out tpbs?
What stuff is he editing out? whole issues like a lot of the stuff between 22-45 or so?
or bits of art/stuff from each individual issue?

slightly changing art by inking, changing words, editing art adding photoshoped stuff to it. I know allot of people don't think it's a bad things but even though it's his I think he should honestly just leave things that have allready been created well enough alone.
And Yes he's also figurd out what doesn't belong story wise and is only keeping what he believes is true tmnt.
I'd have just been happy had they done color to every issue and brought out books I'd much rathe rjust have that.

this is true but what I wonder is that did laird disclude it as part of the series by doing this...or is it still part..seems sort of doubtfull it being such a crazy story but man I love that art.

Soul's Winter is not considered part of the canon continuity. Obviously Peter still likes it enough to republish it (and I'm glad he did). I wouldn't expect that to happen for all of the non-continuity stories (if any of the others).

well I can see why honestly with this one it's wonderfull and all but shredder is still alive and it's a much deeper story than what we had been given in the past from the normal team at the studio.
I'm glad he did also I still need to pick it up.
I'd like to see all of those odd specials mirage brought out made into trades.
I was so happy the other day and in the tmnt box was sitting something I've been looking for for ever it seems the mirage mini comics folder with the little comic books it had never been open either I was so excited just thought I'd share.

yeah I was thinking of sending scan of the contents to the official site because they dont have it up and it's got a mini archie turtle story with cudley the cowlick and a mirage casey story as well as others it was shocking because I didn't know about the archie one.
I also really like melting pot and commandosaurs(sp) it's a shame I've never been able to find those comics.

I've actually never found proof that Commandosaurs was ever actually published. Melting Pot was published under Tundra; copies are pretty common on eBay. I actually might have extra copies of a book or two.. I can check.

veryyyyy interesting I've been meaning to write into laird and ask him also ask what happend with stupid heros and all the others titles at that time as well. I really liked plastron cafe I wish that lasted longer.
I like to have everything mirage and it's core orig. group of artists bring out.
oh rad I'd love to find them I've never seen a single one at a comic convention I wish Kevin would bring that series out in one book it looks great.
And thats interesting about Commandosaurs.
I've also been having trouble finding the Gizmo comics as well so far I own 1 lol.
So Do you have this Mini comic thingy as well? I think out of everything I liked the Donatello Blow up doll story staring the fat hippo lady by mark martin lol. While his storys where always so wacky I always really enjoyed his works.

I was gonna say that there was a collected book, but I think I'm thinking of the sketchbook.

I don't think these are *too* hard to find, either. If you really want to be a completest, try digging up Gizmo #1 published by Domino Chance.

Yeah, I've got the mini comics. Good little pack of stories. And I definitely love Martin's sense of humor, as crazy and off-the-wall as it is.

I just got volumes 2-4 through the mail, but book one seems to be the really rare one. I wish Laird (and Lucas) would realize how awesome there stuff was back then and just let it be.

If you're referring to the "Next" books... Stupid Heroes did get published. I don't know the story behind it, but something went funky so that Stupid Heroes and Xenotech had the first issue published, but then the project stalled and the first issue was republished (with a new cover) and then the remaining issues were published. Bioneers only ever had the first issue printed. Dunno what happened with that.

Plastron Cafe was a good title, most definitely.

Yeah sorry I ment next not mirage hehe.
It's sad it seems any time they try and do something new it fails like when they where changing the archie comics to the hype thing archie/mirage it got cancled.
I own the stupid heros next book with the red outfit hero guy on the cover, as well as Xenotech. which one was replubished with a new cover?
REALLYY so how many issues of each came out?
& Oh wow I never even found Bioneers A.C. Farely is one of my favorite artists I wish he still was working in the comic bizz.
perhaps we should start a new thread talking about rare hard to find mirage & related comics.

There were three issues of Stupid Heroes and Xenotech (with two printings of each #1) and one issue of Bioneers.

Compiling a list of all the obscure Mirage & related books is actually I project I'm sorta working on. Although I've recently been pondering a temporary method of doing this that would be a lot faster than what I've been working on.

ahhhhh damn it! I only thought the first issue of those 2 had come out oi I'm so mad!
Great I'd love to see the list I've also been forever trying to get my hands on the fugitoid comic book.
You see I used to have everything from the orignal mirage comics rare cross overs like viking heros, etc. - archie but there was a huge flood here and i lost my entire collection. I've almost got everything again and if something happens this time I'll swear god jus doesnt want to see me happy and I'll go on rampage of madness lol

So does anyone have any idea when Laird will be done with the new versions of our favorite stories? I cant wait to pick up these trades and finally have an official comic continuity. I agree with you Putrescent, if he's gonna re-ink them and end up messing with them, he might as well do them in color.
