I dont want to get cheated
I want to order an origonal 1988 Donatello off ebay, but the price seems almost to low. I dont want to get cheated out of what im looking for. What would be a reasonable price to pay?

I don't know a reasonable price. Just make sure the box looks like the one here http://www.ninjaturtles.com/toys/1988/don.htm. The original releases had only the turtle being sold on the outside of the box and the re-releases had all the turtles on the outside I think.

Yep...I have all four of the Turtles, re-released.
![]() All for guys on the package...not the originals, but Heck, I'm proud of them. (Panda Kahn is though)

Reasonable price? Depends on what you're going for...
First thing, do you want him loose or on card? loose would be the cheapest ( a couple of bucks really, more if he's complete) Now, if you want him mint on card, you got a few options...the '88 card is like described above, with just pictures of the specific turtle on the package (Don in your case)..the re-releases look the pic above...I'd say on average one of these will run about $20 or so if the card is in good condition..the price rises sharply if the package also contains a "fan club form" or "pop-up display" to around $30-$35 or so..now these are just rough numbers- you can definately find it for cheaper if you take your time and find a good deal...though with all the interest nowadays, those original turtles are probably going to be some of the most sought after figs of the vintage line for collectors and non-collectors alike... Hope this helps! |
